This past Tuesday, the Casselberry community was rocked by the news that our own Rickey Bates passed away from injuries obtained in an automobile accident outside of Phoenix, Arizona.
To celebrate the life & good times of Rickey, we invite you to join the Sparky’s family for a viewing at the Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, located at 994 East Altamonte Dr. in Altamonte Springs, Florida on Monday September 25th from 2pm – 4pm and 6:30pm – 9pm. We welcome those in attendance to share your thoughts & memories of Rickey.
Services will held 11am on Tuesday September 26th at St. Augustine Church, located at 375 North Sunset Drive in Casselberry. The procession will stop by 71 North for a moment of reflection and then proceed to the cemetery. ”

With the passing of Rickey Bates this past week, the whole BMX community is feeling like it lost two friends, brothers and or two real talented riders. ESPN contributor Cody York pulled together some photos of Rickey Bates as a tribute memorial that you can check out here. R.I.P #Banned.
There’s a saying that goes “only the good ones die young” and this couldn’t be more true. Tuesday night, while driving through Arizona, Banned‘s own Rickey Bates and Gary Dimartine lost their lives in a car accident. This is a very sad day in BMX since both guys were amazing people and very talented riders. They will be missed by many. I’m still in shock by the news… Rest in Peace. #Banned.

I was honestly just wondering when the new Banned edit was going to drop, and then this popped up. Rickey Bates and Billy took a short trip and spent 24 hours getting shit done on their bikes. Check it out.
“While on our recent road trip to Texas, the Sparky’s dudes consisting of Ryan Sher, Rickey Bates, Ben Hucke, Seth Kimbrough, Kyle Hart, Hoang Tran, and Greg Smee, made a stop over in The Woodlands near Houston to visit the locals at Bear Branch Skatepark. Kids were trampled, tricks were done, and fun was had.
