Mic’d Up with Dan Paley at Simple Session 2018

March 13, 2018

Dan Paley was on the loose with a camera and a Mic…

Just when you thought all of the Simple Session footage had come and gone, you were WRONG! Ride BMX was sitting on this video they put together from some time that they let Dan Paley loose on the course with a camera and a mic. As expected, Dan gave everyone shit and lead to plenty of laughs.

“Shout out to putting out a video from an event like two months late. To be honest, I’ve had this about %80 finished for a long time, but debated on putting it out. After showing it to a few people, getting some laughs, and thinking about all the pain and suffering I put both Dan and Gary through to make this happen, I figured I pretty much had to get this out.

Basically, I had planned on doing a mic’d up with Paley during practice. Buuut, my flight got delayed and I missed the first day. The second day Dan didn’t show up. So yeah, why not through a mic on Dan during finals, hand the camera over to my friend Gary Young, and then see what happens?

For the Augie fans out there, Paley and Lacey love giving pretty much anyone shit. If they hated Augie, they wouldn’t even fuck with him at all.” – Ride BMX

Stacking Clips with Broc Raiford and Jarren Barboza

March 9, 2018

Spend a day cruising with Broc Raiford and Jarren Barboza as they work on a few video projects!

Here’s a raw, behind the scenes look at a full day of filming at different spots with Broc Raiford and Jarren Barboza as they put in work for a few different video projects. This gives you a raw behind the scenes look that went on throughout the day, plus some leftover clips that won’t be getting used in the videos.

“We had a good day out stacking clips with Broc Raiford and Jarren Barboza, working on various RideBMX and Volume projects that are due out this year. With Mike Mastroni behind the camera and Jeff Z shooting photos, you can be assured that everything captured this day was documented in pristine fashion. Also Broc takes it back to his Louisiana roots and catches a crab at the end. Keep an eye out new sections dropping from Broc and Jarren in various forms later this year! (Some sooner than others).” – Ride BMX

Bike Swap – GT’s Albert Mercado and Leandro Moreira

March 6, 2018

What happens when you take two different riders and make them trade bikes? Here’s what happened to GT’s Albert Mercado and Leandro Moreira…

When it comes to riding BMX, there’s no bike like your own. Every rider has different preferences from sizes to angles, brakes vs brakeless, bar height, seat height, tire pressure, pegs, no pegs, front load versus top load stems, etc, etc, etc. It’s rare to find two identical bikes. With that being said, every bike rides a little different and adjusting to it can be tricky. During a recent GT BMX trip, Albert Mercado and Leandro Moreira swapped bikes. Not only are both these riders styles completely different, but their setups are night and day. Here’s a look at what they were able to throw down on each others bikes after a little time to get used to it.

“It’s crazy how different someone else’s can bike feel even with subtle differences in geometry—let alone an entirely different setup style. GT’s Albert Mercado and Leandro Moreira have polar opposite bike setups—Albert with four-pegs, no brakes and a coaster and Leandro with no pegs, brakes, and a cassette. They switched bikes for an hour and the results were pretty entertaining.

“The day of the Uncovered semi pro BMX competition here at the Wheel Mill Skatepark! So many amazing riders are here to compete against each other and push the limits of BMX bike riding as far as possible! There were so many riders doing some amazing tricks but one rider named Mad Mike stood out in particular to me, He goes by the name of Mad Mike and he is one of the most hardcore powerful BMX riders I have ever seen before! He did the craziest gap to grinds that has ever been done in BMX!” – Scotty Cranmer

Here’s a highlight video featuring all the action from the ridiculously sketchy and unpredictable ramps to the perfect dirt jumps (courtesy of Ryan Herbach and Cody Diggs), to the 64 foot long Subrosa Swamp Rail, and the massive Scotty Cranmer Best Trick jump.
