It looks like DK Bicycles have decided to revive the classic “General Lee” for their 2016 range of complete BMX bikes. The guys over at Ride BMX got the first look at it. How To Icepick to 180 Grind with Caleb Quanbeck
Have you ever wanted to learn how to do an icepick grind to 180? Well, Caleb Quanbeck is here to give you some good advice along with plenty of examples. Hit play, take it all in, then grab your BMX bike and send a few!
“The ice to 180 is a trick that at one point in time was highly sought after… Only a few people could do it, and if you were one of the few, it put you on a bit of a pedestal. But with the progression of BMX riding, and things like plastic pegs, the trick is now a bit more mainstream that it once was. Caleb Quanbeck is REALLY good at this trick, so I caught up with him at a local spot to get the run down. Happy How-Tuesday!” – Ride BMX
XSA Invitational 2015 – 1st Practice
The XSA Invitational is going down in Sochi, Russia this weekend and it looks like they have a super dialed course designed for the street and park guys to throw down on. Today was the first day of practice and it looks like plenty of Russia’s finest were on the course to figure out warm up. Check out a bunch of highlights in this BMX video! Trek Rizaev is CRUSHING that place.
“Kevin Peraza, Pat Casey, Larry Edgar, Catfish, and myself are on top of a mountain in Sochi, Russia, overlooking the city at a hotel made for the 2014 Olympics. To say it’s a bit different than normal would be a massive understatement.
We’re here to be a part of the XSA Invitational, a now yearly event based around the F1 racing event here in Sochi. Set in the middle of the mayhem, the scene at the event is a clash between BMX and some sort of futuristic eutopia produced by Russia for the Olympics. The sunset when I showed up didn’t hurt either…
Shout out to Valentine Shmayunov to filming most of the day and hooking up the footage…we showed up way too late to make a proper video on our own. Thanks dude!

Monster – The Ramp II: Scotty Cramer – Teaser
Two from Scotty Cranmer today! It looks like Scotty has been working with Ride BMX on a new product for Monster Energy where he takes a little kicker and uses it to create some interesting setups. Above is the teaser with the full BMX video dropping in 12 days! Take a look and get excited.
“Rules are not what BMX is about. And, when you begin to subscribe to an idea that you’re supposed to do this or that while riding your bike, you’re missing the whole idea…
In the July 2009 issue of the magazine we introduced The Ramp. It was an article that took us two years to make, as we passively ticked away at sending it around the country to various people. Jimmy Levan did a wallride over a nine foot barb’d wire fence to flat, Garrett Byrnes jumped a Ferrari, Dave Osato did a tailwhip nosepick on a barrier, and Craig Mast attempted to jump a 50 foot creek. It was an entertaining article, we thought. It was different, yet inherently BMX at the same time. After all, a board laid on a block was, for a long time, most people’s first introduction to launching into the air. It was the first ramp and still remains the simplest to make. But, as parks get placed in every neighborhood, the idea of a block and board has seemingly been forgotten. And further, as a whole, we’ve become so institutionalized that the idea of building a ramp and jumping something out in the streets taboo. Straightforward feelings: fuck that. So, after some thought, we decided to bring the ramp back for another go for a six part series that we’ll be introducing over the next year. First up, the legendary Scotty Cranmer breaks the seal on the newly revised ramp.

How To Fast Plant 360 with Connor Lodes
According to Street League rules a foot down counts as a zero in skateboarding, but luckily BMX doesn’t follow rules, haha. Check out this how to on fast plant 360’s with the one and only Connor Lodes who gives you plenty of advice and examples. Take a look!
“Is it a fastplant or a footplant? Personally, I don’t really care. But, if you want to nitpick it, a fastplant is when you use your foot to hop and a footplant is when you jump onto or pivot on your foot. Really though, the words are interchangeable. I don’t care what you call it; we just want you to go out and give it a few tries. You just may like it. And, all praise to Connor Lodes for sitting down and sharing some words while he was up at Woodward West. – Ride BMX
Inter Ride Your Bike Jam
If you were at Interbike 2015 the other week, there’s a good chance you made it out to the jam at Craig Ranch skatepark that Ride BMX threw with Subrosa and GT Bicycles. Here’s a raw edit with footage from the rail jam to the best trick contest. This is what a good time looks like!
“So we put on a jam in Las Vegas, during Interbike, and called it the Inter -Ride Your- Bike Jam. Get it? Plenty of locals and pros came out to support and have a good time. Subrosa gave away a few flat rails, GT have away a signature Rob Wise frame, and chaos ensued. Shout out to everyone who made it out and had a good time! And the to the crazy kid who tried to double peg the awning out of the box jump lip… failed, and attempted to caveman from the awning, still failed. But shit, dude was a savage so we gave him the frame.” – Ride BMX
Redline – Brandon Dosch Burnin’ In Detroit
We haven’t seen much out of the Redline program this past year, but it looks like Brandon Dosch is still holding it down for them. Check out this fresh BMX video where we get a look at Brandon’s street side, with a few park and trails clips mixed throughout for good measure. Detroit might be a little rough around.. all the edges, but they got spots! Check it!
““Sick days and wild nights. Brandon Dosch came home to Michigan for the summer and spent the majority of it getting down in the one and only Detroit.” —Jeff Tabb
