Chris Moeller – Unclicked Podcast
Here it is! The other day a business for sale listing that strangely described S&M Bikes very clearly. Needless to say, A LOT o people freaked out and it lead to a lot of questions. Fortunately, Chris Moeller was up for sitting down on an interview with Ryan Fudger and Dennis Enarson on the Unclicked Podcast to clear up everything, along with his story from how he got into BMX all the way through what he has going on these days and more! Really stoked to know Chris isn’t retiring, but just wants to make S&M, Fit, the Building and everything bigger and better! Hit play and check it out (Full list of the interview topics below)!
“Where to start… First off, I consider Chris Moeller to be one of, if not the smartest people in BMX. In addition, he’s definitively the most intimidating. He’s sharp as a knife, has a historian-esque knowledge of all things BMX, and he’s not afraid to tell you the truth. That’s the makings of a damn good podcast in general, but with the recent—and unexpected—rumors flying around about S&M and Fit being up for sale, we pushed up his podcast to make it happen.

For Sale: International BMX Bicycle Wholesaler & Manufacturer
There is an International BMX Bicycle Wholesaler & Manufacturer with Real Estate for sale…
Here’s a bit of news that it’s probably too damn early to be trying to process this morning. We came across a link to a business for sale that peeked our interest. There’s an “International BMX Bicycle Wholesaler & Manufacture with Real Estate” for sale in Orange County, California.
Now, the description and details doesn’t specify what business it is since that’s just how business sales tend to go down on websites like the one this is listed on. The agents selling the business try to prevent people from bypassing them and going direct to the seller. But, it doesn’t take rocket appliances to narrow down what this business is based on the description and location.
There are only a few BMX brands, and even fewer BMX manufacturers, in Orange County. It’s definitely not GT Bicycles, and Cult doesn’t do manufacturing, at least not in-house. That’s just going off the location on it’s own. It doesn’t take in account that the business was formed in 1987, which eliminates those options as well.
So, based on deduction, it looks like after 34 years, S&M Bikes, Fit Bike Co. and The Building Distribution are up for sale in a package deal worth $4.6 million for the businesses, equipment and property.
Now, don’t freak out… We don’t know if it’s just to put feelers out to see if there’s any interest and bites, or if Chris has decided he’s ready to retire and kick back (dude has definitely earned it!)… It is entirely possible that some real-estate / business-sales agent strolled in and said he’d list it for free to see what happens. If it sells, it sells. If it doesn’t, nobody is out anything kind of deal. Who knows.
Hell, maybe there’s another international BMX bicycle wholesaler and manufacturer with real-estate in Orange County we aren’t thinking of and we are entirely wrong here?
You can check out the full listing which breaks down the deal and the numbers, which is interesting to see for sure over on the BizBuySell website.
Either way, this is some interesting news and we are curious to see how it all pans out!
UPDATE: Chris explains everything about what’s going on in his new Unclicked Podcast interviw!
“Where to start… First off, I consider Chris Moeller to be one of, if not the smartest people in BMX. In addition, he’s definitively the most intimidating. That’s the makings of a damn good podcast in general, but with the recent—and unexpected—rumors flying around about S&M and Fit being up for sale, we pushed up his podcast to make it happen. Orange County is a place that has some of the best BMX manufacturers in the country. It’s also home to one of California’s most popular brands, glas vape juice , started by two brothers who were frustrated with their previous vape juice suppliers, they decided to find what made them happy and make it for themselves. They didn’t have any experience as chemists or engineers but they knew how to ride bikes so they did what anyone would do-they went on YouTube! After this Chris Moeller, one of the brothers, got back into BMX sales.
