Andy and Tim Maguire do New York City!

You can always count on New York City to deliver with the spots. Andy Maguire sent over a fresh edit he put together from a trip he took with his brother, Tim Maguire, this past summer where they explored the city and the legendary Brooklyn Banks and documented the trip all along the way. This looks like it was such a good time. Hit play and take it all in.

“Growing up, the Brooklyn Banks was the Holy Land of action sports. A central meet up to hang, shred, and get engulfed in one of the biggest cities on the planet. This place oozed culture, and projected so much that I grew to love about BMX. A place to belong, shenanigans, a unique offering of obstacles that could be continuously sessioned; a complete package that I knew I had to feel rather than just see. To see it re-open after 15 years of closure felt like a second chance, an opportunity I needed to take. My brother and I flew out the week of 9/11, for a 3-day BMX binge. We took the subway twice, and pedaled the rest of the way. The banks lived up to the hype, as well as the rest of the classic NYC spot tourism. We also managed to cross some bridges, explore unfamiliar neighborhoods, meet old and new friends, and live BMX through all hours of the day, until our muscles could barely steady the handlebars. I hope this encourages you to cross some things off the bucket list as the new year unfolds; you owe it to yourself!” – Andy Maguire

Andy Maguire dropped a new mix for your viewing pleasure!

You know it’s going to be a good week when Monday morning you get a message from Andy Maguire with a link to his latest video he put together. Here’s 3 minutes of riding from the San Jose area featuring Andy and the rest of the crew going to work on spots over the past few months. It sounds like Andy shook some things up in his personal life, and sometimes that’s the spark that it takes to get back on it. Hopefully we’ll be seeing more here soon! Check it!

“Earlier this year, I stepped down from a job that I worked at for almost 10 years to focus more on the aspects of my life that bring me joy. Most of this video was filmed in the long months leading up to taking that big leap. These sessions were therapeutic, allowing me to explore, learn, and socialize in a way that keeps me motivated to ride BMX. And after 3 months away from the grind, I feel like my life is a lot more balanced and fulfilling, getting to put my A-game energy back into family and riding rather than a job that was becoming increasingly dissatisfying. Big thanks to everyone who was in front and behind the camera in this one. Andy Maguire sent over a video from his trip to the Rumble In Richmond!

We always get real stoked when we see Andy Maguire‘s name pop up in the inbox. Here’s his latest video he sent through from a trip he took with his brother and Reed Zirjacks to Richmond, Virginia to check out the Rumble In Richmond, along with getting some riding on street spots and parks in the area. Hit play for 6 minutes of footage from the trip that looks like it was an absolute blast.

“Reed Zirjacks, my brother Tim, and I set out to spectate at the Rumble in Richmond 2023, and ride some of the finest spots the Mid-Atlantic had to offer. What came about was a 4 day BMX binge through Richmond, VA, Washington DC, and Baltimore MD. Tim and I also stopped in Chicago on the way back to California. With all of us in our mid-thirties, the amount of riding that went down was a bit of challenge, but the sights, spots and shredders we linked up with along the way made all the aches and pains well worth the experience. Big ups to Radshare and Steve Crandall for hosting an event like this, a great showcase of how fun and amazing the bmx community can be.” – Andy Maguire

We’ve seen videos from Andy Maguire for years now, and I don’t think it ever occurred to us that he had a brother! Turns out Andy’s brother Tim is a shredder as well! Check out this split edit they just dropped filled with goodness and some music that came out before I bunch of you were even born!

“Who gave these guys a camera? I want to say this is about 16 years in the making, but maybe it’s more like 29. My brother Tim always made BMX look cool to me, and he was always the one in the group who was a step ahead of the game… First to do big gaps, first to hop 3, first to grind rails; needless to say, the man was a huge inspiration. Although we’ve both progressed tremendously over the years and our outlooks on riding have developed, nothing grounds me to the soul of BMX more than a good session with my brother. Thanks brother!
