Bobbie Altiser has been on my radar for quite a while. He’s been classified under the front brake magic file and that’s a real good thing. There’s not a lot of riders out there that run front brakes (or brakes in general) these days. It blows my mind how more people don’t run front brakes with how fun it looks. Either way, I’ve been wanting to find out a little more about Bobbie for a while now, so I finally shot him over a few questions. Let’s find out a little bit more about the dude…

Here’s some GoPro front brake magic from Tree‘s Bobbie Altiser. Always good to see fresh footage from Bobbie.
“We have another prototype version of our hubs being tested. Earlier this year we tested 14mm 7075-T6 aluminum bolts and center axle in our rear hub. We had good results so now we are giving it a go in the front hub. We have started testing, the hub is very light at 6.3 ounces which is 2.2 ounces lighter than our current front hub with 3/8″ bolts. We are sure it will not only be lighter but also stronger than any front hub using 3/8″ steel axles or bolts.” – Tree
Tree Bicycle co just posted pics of the new race and 3/8 versions of their straight pull hubs. The race hub has a 16t tree sproket thread on cog, that looks pretty dang sweet. The 3/8 is going to be for trail, pegless street or park riders. These hubs look pretty nice so head over to Tree for more info and pictures.
