Follow The Leader – Billy Perry Leftovers

September 2, 2013

Volume‘s Billy Perry was sitting on a ton of leftover b-roll and crash footage from his edit he dropped back in June… So, Billy decided to compile it all together for this Follow The Leader edit. Even though this wasn’t his best footage, it’s still way better than a lot of videos that surface on a daily basis. Take a look!

Filmed by Justin Koebele and Zach Marin.

Joey Cobbs is one of those guys who has been around the BMX industry for years. In his time he’s travelled a lot of miles and has done his fair share of gnarly things on a bike. Over the course of the past few years, he’s shifted his focus from being a professional rider to being a professional photographer and even more recently, team manager. Joey is a perfect example of what everybody who rides BMX pretty much aspires to do with their life… Ride and then work in the business.
We figured it has been a while since we’ve done one of these Industry interviews, so why not hit up one of the busiest guys we could think of to find out a little bit more about him and check out some of his work? Check out what he had to say below then hit the photogallery for more photos!

Name: Joseph Cobbs-Wopat

Volume – Team Testing 2013 Complete Bikes

August 21, 2013

So many kids feel like pros have some magical super high end bikes that let them ride at such a top level. In reality many pros actually have broken down, unmaintained bikes because little details don’t matter to them. So I think it’s rad that the Volume guys got on some stock Volume 2013 completes and shut it down just the same as they would on their own bikes. So basically, if you don’t think your bike is good enough, go buy a Volume complete and shred!

“Mike (Mastroni) got out some of the team guys to hit the beach for a some “team bonding” and to show off our all new Back To School Tees. Jason Enns, Matt Clark, Mike Jonas, Alex Platt, Mike Mastroni, Broc Raiford, Alex Raban, Victor Galindo and Billy Perry were all there to soak up the sun and have some fun off their bikes. Huge thanks to Joey Cobbs for making magic behind the lens. All the new tees are available now at your local Volume dealer, mail order shop or on our site.“

Daniel “Lil’ D” Martinez with the Infantry Complete.

The other day we got a look at the all new 2014 completes from Volume Bikes in a flipbook and promo video that they released. Going through looking at all of the specs and everything, I was pretty blown away by what Volume had produced for these 2014 bikes. I was also pretty blown away when I realized how many years it has been since they have actually offered complete bikes.
I got talking with Brian Castillo about the bikes and I figured it would be awesome to let everyone in on what went into making these bikes, why they decided to step away from doing completes for so long and what got them interested in doing them again! We ended up doing this interview so you guys could get the full scoop on what makes these bikes unique along with a closer with a bunch of photos. Let’s get into this!
