There’s a lot of uncertainty in the world these days, but fortunately there are some things that are still there to keep the sanity. Things started getting real weird over the course of March, but Brian Tunney kept things normal by catching his solo flatland sessions. Here’s a look at what he was able to come up with while keeping his distance. Bonus points for having an audio track with this one! Take a look!
“How the hell did I manage to ride the past month? I don’t really know. When the month began, things were still semi-normal and riding was just something I did to pass the time and have fun. Then, the first week ended and things started getting really weird fast.
To maintain a sense of normalcy, I forced myself out of the house to ride a few times, and then some more. At first, avoiding the news, getting away from it all, was not something I wanted to do. But as I’ve learned in the past, going through the routine, even when it’s not something you might want to do, helps.
So I did just that. And apparently, the rest of the world decided to go outside at the same time. At first, the semi-empty park filled up with people quick. And then, the cops took out the basketball hoops and closed off the playground, and suddenly, Redondo Beach became a ghost town. If you listen to this video, as the month progresses, the background noises become less and less.
I’m not sure of what might happen tomorrow or next week, but I’m gonna continue to go do old, shitty flatland tricks because it helps me push on.” – Brian Tunney
