Volume Bikes and Demolition Parts BMX

It’s that time of the year when brands are starting to finally release their latest and greatest products that we got a sneak peek look at during Interbike 2013 back in September. If you recall our coverage from the event, Volume Bikes and Demolition had a handful of new product on display that was looking nothing short of dialed. With their new product just about ready to hit distributors, shops and mail-orders world wide, we decided to chase down Brian Castillo to get photos and all the specs on all of the new product him and the rest of the crew have been hard at work on for the past year or so. We are fortunate enough to give you guys the first in-depth look at their full range of new frames and parts that we undoubtably know you guys will be stoked on. Let’s take a closer look!

Through The Lens: Photographic Evolution

February 19, 2014

BMX bikes

Well this week is going to come as a surprise to most of you reading this right now. Photography is a crazy thing, and as unpredictable as it is that’s one of the best parts about it. You never know where photography could lead you. Whether it’s across your city, across your state, across the country, or around the globe it really doesn’t matter as long as you are enjoying the journey. I have been able to meet some amazing people through photography, I have been able to travel more than I ever thought I would have, and needless to say I have been able to make more memories than I can store in my own head along the way. There is a saying that always influenced me in life and that is “the only constant is change.” That means every second that goes by, things are changing right before your eyes. Whether or not you stop to take notice is a whole different story. That’s been my goal from the beginning as a photographer. To always stop and observe my surroundings and document whatever I feel inspired by. Now, the title of this specific TTL might throw you off a little bit, and you may be wondering exactly what the hell the point of all this is. If I have your attention by now, and you have read up until this point, you might as well keep on reading and find out for yourself.

We’ve seen a bunch of awesome photos from up and coming photographers from the East Coast over the years and it looks like the supply of talent isn’t running short. The other day we got a sample of photos from 17 year old, Alex Luciano, that we were really stoked on! We decided there was no way we could pass up what he had sent through, so we pieced together a brand new photogallery with 15 of his photos for you to check out featuring the likes of Mark Burnett, Isaac Stani, Steve Condit, Luke Fawcett, Kevin Rojas, Brandon Perez, Justin Ramirez, Jon Woods, Dean Watson, Joey Grosz, Dan Hatch, Trystin Gunraj and more!

Through The Lens: Woodward Digital Media Camp

February 12, 2014

TTL_104_opener_600x

Although most of you know that I headed East for the summer and ended up taking on the role of head photo instructor for the Digital Media program at Camp Woodward in Pennsylvania, you may not know anymore than that, or might not even know what the program is really about. After spending three months back on my home-coast, it made me realize how different the East Coast is compared to the West Coast. More specifically Los Angeles, California compared to Woodward, Pennsylvania. I had the opportunity to take on an important role at one of the most influential places on earth. If you know anything about Woodward, you know how amazing it is. Every person that goes there has the same exact sentiment towards camp. It’s a place where you can truly be free and exist in this unique, almost surreal environment based around action sports. As for the Digital Media side of things, they have one of the most progressive programs around and truly put in the effort to do things the right way for the good of the campers. The future is looking bright for upcoming photographers and filmers thanks to a unique program that lets kids work not only with professional creative’s, but also have the chance to meet and shoot with some of the most talented BMX riders and Skateboarders in the world.
