Chris Doyle’s Palaver Podcast – Kris Bennett Interview
I’ll be honest, when I saw the Palaver Podcast pop up, I thought “Oh man, another podcast? Who is doing this one…” and as soon as I saw it was Chris Doyle‘s new Podcast, I immediately changed my perspective and couldn’t click play fast enough. There’s been a bunch of podcasts pop up lately, but knowing Chris is behind this one, we’re sure it’s going to kick a lot of ass. To start things off, he sat Kris Bennett to talk to him about everything from where he grew up to how he got into BMX, riding for a brand like S&M Bikes early on, riding contests with super sketchy builds, digging in the woods, a bunch of funny stories from the years, running Square One, his transition out of BMX into the real world, getting into flipping houses and more! This is a super good listen, so hit play and enjoy!
Powers BMX – S&M Bikes Race Frame History
Here’s one for the older guys who love looking back on history. Chad Powers at Powers BMX dug into his massive collection and pulled out a bunch of classic S&M Bikes race frames to take a look at the history from way back all the way up to the new Steel Panther frame that S&M recently released. Not only is this a really cool look back on the history, but these bikes that Chad has built up with the frames are awesome, too. Take a look!
United BMX – Corey Martinez Flat Mint Incarnate Frame
If you’re on the hunt for a new frame, United BMX have released their Incarnate frame in this new Corey Martinez signature Flat Mint colorway! Above is a quick video giving you a look at the frame built up, then below you can find full specs and details! Take a look!
The United Incarnate frame is made from full 4130 Seamless Sanko Japanese chromoly tubing that is butted and tapered with a 75.5-degree head tube angle, 70.25-degree seat tube angle, 11.75″ bottom bracket height, 8.75″ standover height and a 13″ chainstay length. The frame has an Integrated head tube, gussets on the top and down tubes for strength, a mellower seat tube angle to bring the Mid bottom bracket forward to make the frame feel a little smaller without actually changing the top tube length, an ultra slim cast wishbone on the chainstay, a wide rear end for plenty of tire clearance with thickened chainstays for additional strength and 14mm dropouts. This is a completely BRAKELESS frame, so there are no mounts or guides.
The United Incarnate frame is available in 20.8″, 21″ and 21.2″ top tube lengths with a weight of 5 lbs. flat. If you aren’t feeling the Corey Martinez Flat Mint color, the frame is also available in a Harry Mills Wakley Lilac colorway, Raw, Flat Translucent Brown and Flat Translucent Smoke Black. The Incarnate frame goes for $386.78 and can be picked up through BMX shops and mail-orders that carry United Bike Co. worldwide now.

Sneak Peek: Flybikes – Manual CNC Brakes
The other day we got a look at the new Manual CNC Brake lever from Flybikes, now we get a look at the new Manual CNC Brakes that will be dropping with the lever. Based off their original CNC machined brakes, Flybikes have made a few changes to improve on the originals to make them fit modern tire sizes and stronger, but they have also made them compatible with the traditional spring style and their Springhanger system that moves the springs from the arms to the cable bridge to simplify things. This is pretty cool since the two different systems didn’t work together before, but now you could technically switch between both styles if you would like. These will be dropping at the end of May, but you can get more details below, along with a drawing that’ll better show how both systems work.
“There is no better time than our 20th anniversary to bring back our very popular CNC brake back to life, now packed some new improvements. The refined and updated brake has a throwback look like our classic CNC version but now with the Springhanger technology option, too. Yes, one brake that works with two different bridge cable systems; the Classic system and the Springhanger brake system. The arms are built to be stiffer and to accept up to 2.50” tires giving you plenty of clearance. The Classic version also comes with thicker brass bushings for longer life and features the AKO “Allen Key Only” spring plates and adjustable A-hanger. The Springhanger option comes with an upgraded spring with a flat shape on the straight part for a stiffer performance and an anti-wobble adjustment that eliminates brake-wobble. We are so hyped to have come out with the smoothest, most responsive and best performing Flybikes brake to date.
Available May 31st in Flat Black and Titanium Fog through Flybikes dealers worldwide and online!” – Flybikes
