Profile Racing – From The Dungeon: Scratching the Surface

April 2, 2018

Profile Racing owner, Jim Alley, takes us for a trip down Memory Lane…

With Profile Racing celebrating it’s 50th year in business, they have been looking back on their history. Today, they dropped a video where Profile’s owner, Jim Alley takes us through their old production warehouse to see where their original cranks started taking shape! Hit play and take it all in!

“In celebration of Profile Racing’s 50th anniversary, owner and founder, Jim Alley, invites us into the company’s original Florida location where some sections of this dark and dusty industrial cave have been sealed off since 2004.
Over time, this building (appropriately named “The Dungeon” by employees) has become a time capsule; a host to historical artifacts capturing Profile’s legacy in both the automotive and bicycle industry.
Join us on this multi-episode series as we press record and let Jim imbue his wealth of knowledge on conjured pieces of the past.

This is From the Dungeon.

Shook “It’s On” DVD

April 2, 2018

Boom… It’s on! The Shook “It’s On” DVD is now online.

Big shout out to Ryan Howard for taking the time to upload all of these Shook DVD’s the past week or so. Here’s a look at the Shook “It’s On” DVD that featured Jeff Klugiewicz, Kym Grosser, Karl Poynter, Jeff Kocsis, Mark Gralla, Eric Holley and Brad Simms, with a mix section that featured Tony Neyer, Andrew Moor, Dan Marion, Jeff Kennedy, Jeremy Barcik, Jesse Dewlow, Quinn Semling, Will Love, Eli Platt and Josh Suhre. This video was released back in 2006 and features a ton of familiar faces we’re still seeing riding from today. Once again, this video was produced by Chad Shackelford and turned out amazing from the film work and graphics side of things. If you have been watching the different Shook DVD’s over the past week or so, you have likely noticed how the videos have gone from a fairly loosely planned thing, to a pretty set direction and format that kept things flowing really well. Either way, awesome video that’s well worth a watch!

“The 2018 Vans Street Invitational went down today in a blaze of fury. Best trick was absolute chaos but Kilian Roth took it home with an unreal down-rail manny to 180. Top 3 finishers were Garrett Reynolds (1st), Felix Prangenberg (2nd) and Chad Kerley (3rd) who all held down highly technical and consistent runs. The progression of BMX is getting to of control!” – Ride BMX

The First Electric BMX Bike?

April 1, 2018

Well… It was bound to happen at some point, right?

First Electric BMX Bike April Fools Day

Over the past few years, we’ve seen electric bikes grow in popularity big time in the other cycling industries from the road and comfort bikes to mountain bikes, even. It was only a matter of time until a brand decided to give it a shot with a BMX bike. The guys at The Boiler Room leaked this photo of a bike they just started taking pre-orders on for this summer. The engine is made of 3D printed parts that generate a 1.21 gigawatts of power and goes about 88 miles per hour, which is pretty impressive considering how most riders now days go about 2 miles per hour.

You can check out the full specs and details on the bike right here. That price is RIDICULOUS, so we don’t expect to see too many of these around.

It also looks like this isn’t the first bike. We just found some patent details on another motor George French from G-Sport is working on right here.

Take a look at what they cooked up for you.

If this is what’s going down in practice, you already know the actual contest is going to be nuts.

“I cut this one together quick for ya’ll, but basically, everyone is really, really good at riding and I have no doubt that the Vans Street Invitational is gonna be absolutely mind blowing. Here’s everything I could grab from five hours of practice today at the Vans park in HB…” – Ride BMX
