Nitro World Games Pre-Qualifier – Calling All Pro Riders

Are you looking to get your big shot at riding in front of the world? Well, if you’re good enough to ride with the pros (or you are already a sponsored pro), here’s your chance. The Nitro Circus will be holding a pre-qualifier to for the Nitro World Games on July 16th for anyone that is hoping to get their shot at riding the contest. They will be taking 6 riders for the Triple Jump and 6 for the Best Trick contest. Below you can find the info on how to get your shot and who is already pre-qualified.

“This is your chance to be part of history. From the creators of Nitro Circus, the Nitro World Games is coming to Rice-Eccles Stadium, in Salt Lake City on July 16th.

Next week will see an ‘Open Qualifier’ event, just for BMX, where they will welcome any professional rider to take part, riding the exact set up for the World Games, to attempt to qualify for the games.

A brainchild of Travis Pastrana and Mike Porra, the Nitro World Games is all about progressing action sports to new heights. The event in Salt Lake City, creating history along the way, will be an exclusive 3-hour show, broadcast live on NBC.

There are 2 separate BMX disciplines to be involved in, the Triple Hit and Best Tricks. Best Tricks will be familiar to everyone who has seen a Nitro Circus show, a 50 foot drop in to a 40 foot mega ramp. The Triple Hit is 3 back to back Box Jumps, each with an 18 foot gap, and will be judged on the best 3 tricks in a run.

This is not for the faint hearted so you need to be a serious rider to consider registering for the open qualifier.

Here is everything you need to know about the Open Qualifier:

Best Tricks – 15th June
Triple Hit – 16th June
The qualifier is based in South California, once you register we will update riders on the location.

Note: There will be practice sessions running on Monday 13th and Tuesday 14th June, from 9am to 5pm each day. Riders are welcome to attend these, which offers a perfect time to get used to this incredible set up.

First Session In Marignane

It’s pretty incredible how crazy skateparks are getting these days. The brand new skatepark in Marignane, France is proof of just how good they’re getting, too. Hit play to get a good look at the park, along with some damn good riding from Charles Tschumy, Kevin Roche, Julien Arnaud and Tanguy Labertrande giving the place a go for the first time. Based off the video, it’s safe to say this place has a TON to offer. Hit play and start drooling…. or planning a trip that direction! Yeah, France! You’re doing it right.

Product: Volume Bikes – Limited Edition Red Bermuda V2 Frame

The Bermuda V2 frame is made from 100% 4130 chromoly tubing with a 75-degree head tube angle, 71-degree seat tube angle, 11.7″ bottom bracket height, 9″ standover height and 13.5″ (slammed) chainstay length. You can find features like the hourglass head tube, gussets on the top and down tubes, an ovalized down tube to help resist denting, externally butted seat tube, integrated seat post clamp, MID bottom bracket, tapered seat stays, curved seat and chainstay bridges for 2.40″ tire clearance and 7mm thick heat-treated Investment Cast dropouts with integrated chain tensioners.

The Bermuda V2 in “Hot For The Teacher Red” will be available in 20.75″ and 21″ top tube lengths, weighs in at 5 lbs. 1 oz. and will be available for $329.99! Check out a few more photos below…

LFS 2 – Jan Doroba Section

The LFS crew treating you to another section from the “LFS 2” DVD for your viewing pleasure. This time we get a look at what Jan Doroba‘s section that is five minutes of gold from the streets, along with proof that he kicked his own ass for this one more than once. Hit that play button!

“Doroba is an LFSer at heart. He will drive around a city or state for hours until he finds what he’s looking for. I can’t count how many times Doroba would call me 5-7AM yelling, “I’M OUTSIDE LET’S GO!!!” to wake me up for the early mission. We went to his banger spot over five different times before 7AM so he could pull it before getting the boot. I think that really shows how much work he’s willing to put in, and it shows in his section. Enjoy.

Scotty Cranmer – Game of Add On: Flat Ground

What happens when you put a bunch of ramp riders into a Game of Add On, but make them do everything on flat ground? You better believe things get pretty hilarious. Check out what they guys were able to come up with and how far they were able to go before everyone was eliminated except for the champion!

“For game of add on # 6 the whole crew met at the skatepark to play a flat ground game of add on where if you touch a ramp you are automatically disqualified! The boys brought some crazy and creative tricks to the game and after some ups and downs and some awesome tricks and some even more awesome fails only one person gets the title of the Add on Champion!
