Sneak Peek: Pedal Driven Cycles – 22″ Operator Frame

June 5, 2019

Pedal Driven Cycles 22" Operator BMX Frame

Although 22″ bikes have been around for 15+ years, we’ve been seeing a big increase in the options available the past few years. Here’s a sneak peek look at a new frame option that’ll be dropping this summer from Dave Harrison at Pedal Driven Cycles. Dave has been working with Matt Stahl to create a frame that is built for the technical ramp riding style rider that wants to run the 22″ size. The Operator 22″ Frame has a 75-degree head tube angle, 71-degree seat tube angle, 9.5″ standover height, 12″ bottom bracket height and a 13.8″ chainstay length (slammed). The frame features a long tapered integrated head tube, top and downtube gussets with laser cut logos, a double butted top tube, straight gauge down tube, a single butted seat tube, an externally machined Mid bottom bracket, low profile chainstays with plenty of clearance for 2.40″ tires and 30-tooth sprockets, and welded seat stay brakes with drilled guides or completely brakeless if you prefer that route.

The 22″ Operator frame will be available in 21.75″ and 22.75″ top tube lengths with Sea Foam Green and Claret (appears to be a dark red / brown color) for the color options and a weight of 5.05 lbs on the 22.75″ size. No word on price, but we’ll let you know when that information is available. Until then, you can learn more about this frame project on the Pedal Driven Cycles website!

Pedal Driven Cycles 22" Operator BMX Frame

Here’s a few words from Matt that lead to his signature 22″ Operator frame happening…

“I have been riding these bikes for a long time and always felt something was a little off. I was never able to put my finger on it. When Dave asked me to ride for PDC and told me he wanted to do a frame for me I was blown away. My current set up is a custom he made for me and I felt that It had some of the same issues my previous bikes had. I wanted to address those issues and make a frame that was designed for my more tech riding style. The group of guys we gathered to help on this project have been a huge help every step of the way. Getting input from an outside source is always valuable.” – Matt Stahl

Brian Tunney – May 2019 Clips

June 4, 2019

It’s a new month, and that means it’s time for Brian Tunney to put together a fresh batch of clips from the sessions he has been getting in this past month. Here’s a look at what he put together from the flatland sessions he got in, in May! As always, Brian’s video has a laid back vibe, but no shortage of awesome clips to check out. Take a peek!

“I’ve been home from China for less than 24 hours and slept 13 hours. Reversing your sleep schedule is no fun. But considering I had a huge trip to China happening in May, plus a stress fracture in my foot, I still managed to get some riding done. Some new, some old, all fun.” – Brian Tunney

Billy Woodfin – My Ramp

June 4, 2019

We always love seeing a video like this, especially since we don’t get too many mini ramp edits to enjoy these days. Here’s a new one Billy Woodfin put together from some of the sessions that he has been getting in on his backyard ramp. This has a ton of awesome lip tricks and front brake magic that is too damn good to miss. Highly suggest you hit play and take this all in!

“I gave myself two weeks to film an edit on my ramp that i have had for a year now all except one clip was filmed in that time frame the other clip was filmed a month before when i tried to do the same thing but got hurt. Every clip was filmed on a tripod (or Shovel used as tripod) with either my gopro or an iphone i had laying around. I would like to thank Standard Byke Company, Profile Racing, SCG shoes and Albe’s Mail Order for the continued support!! I would also like to thank Trampled By Turtles for allowing me to use their song “Wait So Long”” – Billy Woodfin
