It’s always a good day when we get some amazing photos dropped into the inbox! The other day our good friend, Josh McElwee, hit us up with a handful of Mark Mulville photos that he was sitting on from a project that fell through! As always with Josh’s work, they were top notch so there was no way we could pass them up! Over the years, we’ve been able to meet a lot of talented people who are out there creating content and doing what they can to help grow their scene. One guy who we have constantly seen good things from in that time is Mario Carrasco. Between different events and countless videos that he has produced, we have been able to keep in contact and see what he has been up to.

For those of you who keep up with our Daily Section, there’s no doubt that you have seen one of his videos. As of late, Mario has been producing videos under the ABQ DNV title and needless to say, it’s been nothing short of great.

After all the hard work on both sides of the lens, there was no way we couldn’t get ahold of him to find out just where his love for filming, editing and BMX came from. So today, we’re stoked to present to you an interview with Mario to talk about just that. Let’s see what he had to say!

On the Horizon: Impurity Bike Co.

The other day we received a message from our friend, Chris Smith, asking if we would be interested in checking out an interview he did with Nick Huang, owner of the Singapore based bike company Impurity Bike Co., about the brand. We have been hearing things about the company for a while now, but we honestly didn’t know that much, so we gave it a look. We learned quite a bit about the brand and figured it would be rad to give you guys some insight into just what they do as well. It’s a good read and we have it here for you to give it a look! One thing we’re always on the look for are photographers that are shooting amazing photos that you may not have known about. The other day we spotted some photos of Nick Tellez’s on the Cult website and we quickly realized that we had blown it. It turns out that Nick has been shooting some really good photos for a while now and had some how missed it… Until now. Some of you, like ourselves, might be more familiar with Nick through his riding. Over the past few years we’ve had the opportunity to see him crush it in videos as he still does today, which is probably why we failed to notice his other talent.
We decided it was a good idea to hit up Nick and talk about his photo work, how he got started, where it has lead him so far and most importantly, get some more eyes on his work! Check out the interview below then check the PHOTOGALLERY for a better look at his work!

Quicky: Jack at DUB BMX

Over the past year, I think it’s pretty clear that things have been pretty hectic for the DUB crew. Between the “Homegrown” DVD being released, traveling the world working with Monster on The Street Series stops that went down in Capetown, Barcelona, Berlin, Tokyo and New York, the closing of The Loot and a bunch of new clothing designs and a collaboration frame all dropping, I think hectic is a good word for it. We figured it was a good time to get ahold of Jack now that he has a little down time to find out more about everything him and the crew have been getting into lately! Let’s see what he had to say!

Riding BMX In India

It’s pretty crazy to think about how much BMX has grown over the years and how many places around the world that have scenes that are growing incredibly fast with new talented riders popping up left and right. At the same time, there are still places in this world that BMX just isn’t a thing to them. It might come as a shock to you, but a country with an estimated population of 1.27 billion doesn’t have much for BMX going on.
The other day we had a video sent in by Shubham Nevi and Prateek Bhasin with riding from some of their local spots and it got us thinking about the country and how we really haven’t seen much from the place in the past. We got thinking it would be a good idea to talk to these guys about the place and their movement to bring BMX to the country. Let’s see what they had to say!

Hadrien Picard and The Concrete Brothers

There’s no denying that by now you are familiar with Hadrien Picard’s work. We’ve seen A LOT of amazing videos out of him including his most recent release, Concrete Brothers, featuring Kevin Kalkoff along with his half-brothers Enzo and Thomas Benedetti! Concrete Brothers was part of the Nokia Pureviews series that Hadrien has been working on where he films using their Lumia cellphone that produces some pretty amazing quality.
We were really stoked on the new video and figured it would be cool to catch up with Hadrien to find out more about the video, the Pureviews series and what else he has been getting into as of late!
