Matt Nordstrom has been given the official bump up to the Fit Bike Co. and Odyssey pro teams! They made the announcement last night at the Odyssey 30 Year Anniversary Jam in California. Above is the Instagram post that went out after the news was released at the jam. Matt with Odyssey team manager, Walter Pieringer and Fit Bike Co. / S&M Bikes owner, Chris Moeller. We personally have been suspecting that this was going to be the next rider to get the bump up from both teams due to all the incredible riding that Matt has been putting out lately in different BMX videos for both brands and we’re positive this will just push Matt’s level of riding even higher. Get stoked. Congratulations, Matt!
Update: Get the official words from Fit Bike Co. and S&M Bikes below…
“Matt Nordstrom got stuck with a pretty heavy one, two punch after the Odyssey 30 Year party/premiere on Saturday night… he got the double bump to the PRO TEAM from both us and Odyssey. Matt’s been steady reppin’ Fit since Dang Dang told us to swoop him up four years ago and we’re amped to do even more with our dude now that he can hit the highways! If Matt’s recent HOLY FIT split, SF-it and 2015 Odyssey edits (not to mention his ending section in “30.15” from the other night) are any indication of what’s to come from the 19-year-old ninja, the future looks bright!” – Fit Bike Co.
“I couldn’t be more excited to welcome Matt Nordstrom to the Odyssey pro team.
Matt has been on our AM team for more than two years now, and in that time his riding has progressed by leaps and bounds. He’s been busting his ass and put out two outstanding video sections for Odyssey, most recently the banger section in our new 30•15 video (that goes live on Friday!)
But just as importantly, Matt’s got one of the most positive attitudes of anybody I know, and everybody on the team is stoked to ride and travel with him. I’ve been all over the world with Matt for the past couple years, and I can’t wait to see what kind of trouble we’ll get into now that Matt is an even bigger part of what we’ve got going on.
Bottom line, Matt is stoked on what we’re doing, and we’re stoked on Matt, so moving him up to the pro team was the only way to go. Matt is a great kid with great parents and a great pup, and we’re proud he’s a part of Odyssey.” – Walter Pieringer
