Product: Odyssey – Lasergram Seat

June 8, 2015

odyssey-laser-gram-seats-750x500

Is it time for a new BMX seat? Looking for something unique? The new Lasergram seat from Odyssey is out now. This seat, which features a retro / futuristic laster pastern is available in two versions; Tripod and Pivotal. Get the details on the differences between the two versions below

“The Tripod version provides a wider base, and slightly beefier padding and shape than its Pivotal counterpart. It offers a cleaner look, while still being re-inforced for strength.”

“The Pivotal version is based around our popular Principal seat size and shape. It features larger padding that wraps around our custom designed, wider shaped pivotal base. Specially re-inforced for strength at all the right spots.”

Also, as a side note. Due to the material they’re using to cover the seats, no two are identical.

Both seats are available through BMX Shops and Mail-Orders that carry Odyssey worldwide now! Check out more photos after the jump!

If there’s one guy that we always love catching up with, it’s Brian Kachinsky. Brian is always getting into something new and exciting and is never slowing down — unless he’s taking a gnarly slam, which happens from time to time. Brian recently joined the GT Bicycles team and we’re pretty excited about that because it seems like there has been a lot of energy going back into that program over the past year. We had noticed a photo of his bike a little while back and spotted a handful of prototype parts on it, so we figured now was a great time to catch up with Brian and take a closer look at the BMX bike that he calls his these days. Let’s take a closer look!

Work In Progress: Bob Manchester at the Skatepark of Malaga

June 8, 2015

For this episode of Mike King’s “Work In Progress” series, he follows Bob Manchester around at his job doing construction before heading off to Malaga, Spain to ride Ruben Alcantara’s skatepark with some of the Villa Road crew! This has a ton of amazing riding from Bob, along with some clips of Matt Priest and Liam Eltham for good measure. After you check out this video, check out more in the Villa Road Trip to Malaga Video which was filmed at the same time as this. This is a MUST SEE BMX video for sure.

“Despite being a ‘pro rider’ Bob Manchester spends 8 hours a day getting his hands dirty with hard graft on building sites. But there’s a reason he does this job – he can walk away every day at 5:30, super amped to ride, no less. He proves it in this video with a weekend jaunt to Málaga where he rides the incredible park designed by Rubén Alcántara. The combination of such a perfect setup and Bob’s formidable skills is nothing short of sublime.” – Epic TV

Garrett Reynolds 2015 Instagram Compilation

June 8, 2015

These fan compilation BMX videos are always pretty rad. Recently, somebody took a ton of Garrett Reynolds’ Instagram clips and compiled them all into this new edit for us to all enjoy. It’s pretty unlikely that you don’t follow Garrett on Instagram, so there’s a chance you saw a lot of these clips already, but there’s a good chance you haven’t seen them all. Hit play because you know you will love it.

Catfish & Stuart Gibson – Two Weeks in Holland

June 8, 2015

It’s a pretty well known fact that Catfish is constantly on the move, bouncing around from country to country for events and everything. He recently spent some time in Holland with Stuart Gibson where they ended up filming a ton of clips for a fresh BMX video to start the week off right. Catfish brings plenty of unique combos with his flatland inspired style and Stuart throws down a few solid lines as well from a few different skateparks they hit up along the way. Looks like it was a product trip to us!

“Zack “Catfish” Yankush came down from Montpellier France to Rotterdam Holland for two weeks to hang out with me after FISE.

Despite me being injured we still managed to ride a large amount of skateparks in the area, a indoor skatepark cross country and visited the WAOJ jam in Amsterdam.

Big thank you to Monster Energy Holland for letting us use the Monster truck during all of this!”

X-Games 2015 – Best of Big Air Doubles

June 7, 2015

When we first heard about “Big Air Doubles” a while back, we instantly imagined two people dropping in on the Mega Ramp at the same time, trying to pull out some wild tricks without crashing into each other and dying. It turns out our idea of just what this new addition to the X-Games contest line up was completely wrong. In fact, they paired up one BMX rider with one Skateboarder and they each go separately, then their score is calculated. Morgan Wade and Bob Burnquist teamed up and ended up taking home the gold. Take a look at a few of the highlights from the contest.
