Haro caught up with Perris Benegas when she got into Huntington Beach for the Vans Waffle Cup. Here’s a video where she shows you how she travels with the bike and builds it up. This also doubles as a sneak peek look at the new Ryan Nyquist signature Quist frame that is in the works! Take a look.
“Ever wondered what a bikes looks like after a few dozen times in and out of a bike bag, thrown on and off planes, built up, broken down, and ridden all over the world by an Olympic Athlete for 8 months?
To put it lightly, Perris’ bike looks like it has been to hell and back! Perris has been shredding this bike all over the world to help out with testing for a new park specific signature frame with Ryan Nyquist called the Quist!
So when Perris touched down in Huntington Beach California for the Van’s Waffle Cup, we caught up with her to check out her Bike in a Bag and find out the whys and hows of Perris’ bike packing technique and then we went for a cruise around HB to shake off the jet lag.
The Quist is nearing the end of it’s first round of testing and is currently scheduled for release sometime in 2023. We will have more specific information available for The Quist once testing is complete.

BMX Day 2022 – San Diego
The annual BMX Day was the other week, and as always there were some big jams in cities all over. The San Diego jam was huge, and we finally get a look at all the action in this 18 minute raw cut filled with riding from the Pros to the locals and young guns. It’s safe to say this was a real good day. Take a look!
“BMX DAY San Diego was one for the books! This year we hit four official spots. Including a new spot that we built for the jam! (The spot is sure to be there for a while so go enjoy it while you can.) We rounded off the day with a premiere of the new Chocolate Truck Video at ReBru Spirits. Overall it was an amazing day and we can’t wait to do it again next year!
Big shout out to local San Diego bike shop SD Wheel Works for providing a $100 “King of the spot” per spot and $500 for the rider of the day.
