BMX street contests approximate the most common form of urban BMX riding, utilizing obstacles common to city settings – like handrails, stairs, ledges, benches and outdoor tables – on a purpose-built course. Competitors do an assortment of grinds, tailwhips, rotations, gap-to-obstacles tricks and more on the course, often combining multiple maneuvers into a single trick. BMX street requires a high level of creativity, adaptability and technical skills, as riders must navigate the urban landscape and perform tricks with precision and control. In competitions, judges evaluate the difficulty, execution and originality of tricks.” – X Games

Park is a style of BMX riding featuring a variety of obstacles such as ramps, bowls, quarterpipes and box jumps arranged in a challenging and creative layout. Riders use these obstacles to perform a variety of tricks, airs and grinds, incorporating a majority or all features into a single run. Using the contours of the course to gain speed instead of pedaling (pedaling usually detracts from scores), X Games Park riders use the obstacles for the air necessary to do huge tricks like 720s, double tailwhip combos and various inverts. Competitors are judged based on the execution of maneuvers, degree of difficulty, variety, flow, originality, style and amplitude (height of airs).”
