The Goat Cave Podcast – Nik Ford

February 15, 2021

Here’s one we had sent through from a podcast we haven’t heard of called The Goat Cave Podcast that’s apparently been around for a while! This latest episode, Nik Ford sat down for an interview. As many of you know, Nik has been throwing down over in the U.K for years and has done a lot from being a sponsored rider to producing DVD’s and more. Nik has an interesting story that spans two decades with a lot of great stories, achievements and more. There’s also a lot of things in this that we didn’t know about. Hit play and take it all in since it’s a real good listen!

“Today’s guest is a UK local who has been shredding over 20 years. In his time riding he has been in countless magazines, rode in many contests, been sponsored by some big brands like DiamondBack and DuFFs footwear, and produced 2 full length DVDs, “Unsung”, and “What Next”. Just like most of life, you have to take the good with the bad, and he has dealt with some of the hardest things a person can endure, on January 7th, 2003 he would go into a coma after taking a crash while riding the day before. Things didn’t get better at first, he would have a heart attack while in his coma which left his brain unresponsive. On January 13th, 2003 at the age of 19, Nik Ford had died…. After 3.5 hours, the nurse came to do her final round with Nik when she noticed a reaction in his pupils, he was alive! and in the fight of his life. 18 years later Nik Ford is here at The Goat Cave to tell us his story and so much more!

Primo – Johannes Winkelmann “Steel Wrists”

February 14, 2021

Johannes Winkelmann is healing up from some wrist surgery where he got some new metal hardware, but he managed to bang this fresh video out for Primo before that. Hit play to check out just under 5 minutes of great riding from the streets of Germany. This has a real good mix of tricks and spots, making for a real solid watch. If you’re looking for grinds, Johannes delivers!

“Before undergoing a wrist surgery Johannes Winkelmann made sure to leave no loose ends on the streets of Nuremburg!

When Johannes Winkelmann is not teaching new tricks to CT Freestyle BMX beginners, he likes to throw himself down one or the other terrifying rail or gap. And not infrequently also backwards, which, as is well known, makes the matter a whole lot hairier than it already is.

Such daring, of course, comes at a price. And that’s why Jo had to undergo wrist surgery today, which luckily went well. We wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to hopefully back in the saddle soon.

To look forward to, we have his new video for AllRide BMX Distribution and Primo, which the Angleman has been working hard on over the past year and a half. In the week right before his operation, a couple of really big things were quickly bagged for which you literally need steel wrists. But of course the technical side of the main actor is not neglected either, so that in the end a really fiery video came out. But we are not used to that any different from Johannes. Check it!

2020 California Road Trip

February 13, 2021

There weren’t too many riders getting their road trip on in 2020, but that didn’t stop Dylan Wright, Tyler Shaw and Clay Cain from loading up for a trip from Texas to California, hitting up a bunch of parks along the way. Hit play to check out what they got into! Despite a pandemic going on, it looks like these guys had an absolute blast riding parks like Premise in Arizona, the Full Factory ramps, concrete parks and more. Hit play and take it all in!

“Tyler Shaw, Clay Cain and myself finally punched the gas on making a trip to California to see our sisters and cousins. We rented a van that was our home for a week and a half making stops at so many cool skateparks not even making a dent in how much there is to ride in between Texas and the West coast. This trip was the best trip ever and I am so happy to have two amazing friends in my life that don’t mind roughing it out for the love of the sport. You two inspire me so much and I will never be able to thank y’all enough for everything. Until next time cousins!” – Dylan Wright
