Matt Ray – Escaping Winter In Cali

Winter has been rough, especially with the quarantine. Matt Ray decided to head out to California for a few weeks to enjoy the warmth and endless spots. Here’s a look at what he got into from street sessions to trails, parks and more!

Red Bull coming through with a new one featuring Lara Lessmann, Daniel Tünte and Mati Echeverria cruising a few parks in Berlin, Germany! Despite COVID restrictions, they made the most of it and ended up laying down plenty of great riding! Hit play and take it all in!

Here’s a look at the new garage ramp setup he has that is called The Shred Shack. Hit play to watch Chris, Nick Harkins, Joe Battaglia and Jeremy Nelson put the new setup to work! Despite it being a pretty tight setup, it looks like these guys had a ton of fun and threw down a ton of great riding.

Simple Session “Life Is Just A Ride” Documentary

The Simple Session “Life Is Just A Ride” documentary is now online! This documentary follows Reed Stark, Madars Apse, and Risto Kalmre with 3 different perspectives on the event from the Pro riders to running the show. Typically during Simple Session we see dozens of videos with most focused on the riding, but this gives more of an in-depth behind the scenes look that is interesting to see. It also gives us a look at the history of the event from its inception to the massive event it has become with riders coming from all over the world to participate. Hit play and take it all in! Hopefully once things start going back to normal, this event can get back on track!

“Life is Just a Ride” is a documentary that brings the positive mindset of three different characters during Simple Session, one of the biggest and longest-running action sports events in the world, to the big screen. Reed Stark is a world-renowned BMX rider from the United States. Madars Apse is one of the best European skateboarders, whose professional career began at Simple Session. Risto Kalmre is one of the masterminds behind the event that came to life from a pile of dirt 20 years ago in a small Northern European country, Estonia. The movie also features Bam Margera, Darryl Nau and many other well-known people in the scene. “Life is Just a Ride” is a thought-provoking and uplifting movie that works as an antidote to a bad mood, poor weather, or when the ju-ju is just not working for you.

“Life Is Just a Ride” was first screened at the 20th edition of the annual Simple Session last February for a sold out venue of 500 where it received standing/cheering ovations from the fans. It was followed by a successful festival premiere at the Tallinn Black Night’s Film Festival, where the uplifting documentary was well received by the younger audience in the Just Film youth programme.

A Full Titanium Brand – Viking BMX

A brand entirely focused on making Titanium BMX products. Introducing Viking BMX.

Here’s some news that popped up in the inbox this morning that will get the titanium lovers out there excited. Over the past few years we’ve seen interest in Titanium products start to come back around. Although expensive, it seems like more riders have been willing to pay the extra money to save the precious ounces. Laird Frame has been doing custom titanium frames, bars and forks for a few years now, RNC made an unexpected return last year introducing a bunch of new products like full titanium cranks. Now, there’s a new brand called Viking BMX coming out of Barcelona, Spain that is focused on titanium products as well! The brand is lead by David Palau-Costa, who has an engineering background and has been working on developing titanium BMX products for the past 7 years. The brand officially launched on January 21st. They sent over a press release, along with a look at some of their products, geared toward park and flatland riding, that you can check out below. As expected, the prices are up there, but that is expected with full titanium. They have launched their website, which includes a webstore with a mix of their products, RNC products, and a few other non-titanium items from brands like Profile Racing.

It looks like Viki Gomez is on board, and has a new video that you can find down below as well!

Although we’ve seen titanium in BMX, it seems like lately there has been an increase in options, which is pretty cool to see!
