Schwinn “American Muscle” Behind the Scenes (1996)

What were you doing in 1996? Since I have a feeling a good number of people checking this out may not have existed yet, or were super young at the time, it wouldn’t be a complete surprise that they weren’t watching the Schwinn “American Muscle” video that coincidentally featured a few of BMX’s legends that you might be familiar with. The crew at Snakebite BMX uploaded 13 minutes of raw behind the scenes footage filmed during a mini ramp session. Back with full face helmets, front and back brakes were the norm. Plenty of gold packed into this one, so hit play and take it all in!

“While filming for the infamous Schwinn video Osato & Miron decided to drive south of the border and ride my friend Andrews ramps. Andrew had his camera that day and filmed the session. Featuring Dave Osato, Jay Miron, Andrew Ryser, Ben Marin, Rich Hirsch, Jason Enns, & Nathan Penonzek.

““Vagabond Squad” is a full-length video from Canada’s Weird & Revered crew. Filmed from 2016 to 2019, the project is community rooted with a strong focus on the Edmonton BMX scene. Although a majority of the clips are from the crew’s home city, the footage spans 9 countries, 8 American states, and 4 Canadian provinces and territories.” – DIG

The crew at Freedom BMX coming through with an upload from the Inkyo Tokyo Street Jam! Any time you see footage coming from the streets of Japan, you know you’re going to see something rad. The scene over there is always progressing and definitely have their own unique style and everything. Based on the footage, they had a real solid turn out and everyone had a good time during the late night cruise.
