Kink X Traffic – Artur Meister “No Worries”

January 9, 2020

Artur Meister is a smooth operator! Artur has been holding it down for Kink over in Germany for Traffic Distribution and has been busy going to work on street spots for this new edit. Hit play to watch Artur put his pegs to proper use on every rail and ledge he came across!

“Kink BMX / Traffic Distribution rider Artur Meister hit the streets of Germany with his filming bud David Schaller over the course of 2019 – sit back and enjoy some real smooth operating!” – DIG

Chris Doyle Announces Retirement

January 9, 2020

I had to come back to edit this. I’m sorry for being misleading (but this scene is so funny). I’m not quitting riding, but PROFESSIONALLY, I’m moving on to other things. Thank you all for your concern and kindness! I’ll see you at @raysmtb this Saturday!

A post shared by Chris Doyle (@chris_doyle22) on Jan 8, 2020 at 11:19am PST

Here’s one we kind of had a feeling might be coming with the start of the new year. Chris Doyle has made the decision to retire as a Professional BMX Rider. Chris has had a long, and very solid career as a BMX pro, outlasting a countless number of other riders that have been Pro during his days. Chris made the announcement on Instagram with probably the best retirement announcement ever in BMX, using a clip from “Hotrod” to bring the news. Although most people understood, he decided to make a second post (you can find below) explaining that he’ll still be involved in BMX from his commentating work at events to his podcast and more, which he’s been transitioning into the past two or 3 years now. He just won’t be cashing those sponsor checks like he used to! Either way, Chris has been one of my favorite riders from pretty much the first time I rode BMX and it’s safe to say he’ll continue to hold that spot for a lot of riders into the future! Expect to see plenty more from the Big D in 2020, just not in the contest results.

Update: Brant Moore dropped a live stream interview with Chris about the news! Check it out below!

Ruben Alcantara “ZRide” (2002)

January 9, 2020

What were you doing in 2002? Ruben Alcantara was jumping on a trampoline answering questions’s and shredding parks, trails and street spots with a ton of style. This section is 8 minutes of pure gold! Sure, maybe I had the exact same Macneil Ruben frame and his signature shoe from Etnies, and really any signature Ruben product around this time… But there is no bias here! Great riding from start to finish! Shout out to Snakebite for uploading this classic.

The Road 2 Recovery – Scotty Cranmer

January 8, 2020

If you keep up with Scotty Cranmer‘s Youtube channel, you have heard about this one coming for a few weeks now. The Road 2 Recovery has been working on a series of videos with some of the athletes they have helped through their foundation. This video tells Scotty’s story from his riding to his crash that completely changed his whole life. Although you might have been following along, this video tells the full story in 8 minutes which is pretty wild. This is a super good watch and definitely something you’ll want to check out. After that, check out Scotty’s video that dropped along side this on his channel below that talks about the video, along with some riding from the crew!

“R2R has chosen to tell the stories of five of our athletes and how we have helped them through the ups and downs of their injury.

This is Scotty Cranmer’s Story.” – Road 2 Recovery

DSK Pegless

January 8, 2020

The DSK guys are dealing with the cold winter months by cruising their local indoor park. Unfortunately, for some very strange reason, their local park doesn’t allow pegs. So, the guys pulled ’em off and kept the sessions going. Here’s a bunch of clips they’ve cooked up doing the pegless thing so far. It looks like this has almost forced them to mix things up with some different tricks, combos and lines. Take a look!

“A few sessions at the winter escape where no pegs are allowed to be ridden, aye

January 8, 2020

Here’s a wild one for you! Bone Deth have released Kert Petersel‘s section from the “Too Fast For Food” DVD part online for your viewing pleasure! As always, Kert delivers some fast paced action with roof drops, big gaps, wallrides and more. Needless to say, this is too good to miss!

“The Estonian beast! We’ve always enjoyed watching Kert Petersel do his thing and this section from Bone Deth’s ‘Too Fast For Food’ could be his best yet. Full speed, rooftop blazing, gap to wall madness. And that ender… wow.” – DIG

Harry Main Off Mafia Bikes

January 8, 2020

View this post on Instagram

*NO LONGER RIDING FOR MAFIA BIKES* My time at Mafia bikes it’s done! I learnt a lot about myself over the time we worked together. We are heading in different directions & I could not be more excited to get back to Riding! Thanks everyone who supports me & is there to guide me! Through the ups & downs of the Mafia partnership I do feel the experience has been eye opening in a positive way. Thanks to everyone at Mafia bikes! For now I’m riding this frame which is sentimental to me as my mum bought me it when I was 16! Looking forward to potentially working with new brands again in the future that share the same direction and love for bikes as me!

A post shared by HARRY MAIN (@harrymain) on Jan 7, 2020 at 11:11am PST

The 2020 sponsor changes continue. Here’s one we’re sure a bunch of people will be stoked to see. Harry Main is no longer riding for Mafia Bikes. In his Instagram post, he didn’t really specify the reason for leaving beyond going in different directions, but that will happen. It looks like as of right now he doesn’t have anything lined up, but maybe we’ll see something in the future since we’re sure somebody wouldn’t mind having him on their team considering he still shreds and has a big following on social media. However, it does look like he’s been spending more time on mountain bikes over BMX bikes as of late, so maybe that’s the new direction he wants to go in. Either way, another bit of sponsor news for the new year!

Who would you like to see him riding for or a brand you think he would fit well with? Let us know in the comments down below!
