Albert Mercado Off Kink

Well… Here’s an announcement we don’t think anyone saw coming. Albert Mercado has decided to step away from the Kink Pro team on Instagram. Below is his statement about the decision. We’re not sure if he has a new sponsor lined up or if it was just time to pursue some new opportunities outside of BMX. We are sure we’ll still see fresh Albert footage in the future regardless.

“After almost a decade of riding for @kinkbikes the time has come for us to part ways. It’s been an amazing time riding, traveling, and hanging out with people that have become some of my lifelong friends. Unforgettable memories and friendships that can’t be rattled by life’s struggles is what I’m most grateful for. Shout out to everyone at Kink that made these years of good times possible. I couldn’t have thought of a better way to spend my time on Kink. It’s been real. On that note, It’s time to move forward and see what the world has in store for me! Thanks again Kink for everything! Kink BMX – “Intervention” Full-Length Video

Did you miss the live stream the other day? Well, you’re in luck because Kink Bike Co. have hooked it up with their entire “Intervention” full-length BMX video featuring Darryl Tocco, Sean Sexton, Chris Doyle, Tony Hamlin, Chad Osburn, Dan Coller, Albert Mercado, Connor Lodes, Calvin Kosovich, Jay Roe, Jacob Cable, Travis Hughes and many, many more!

“This is Kink BMX – Intervention. A culmination of riding from the entire Kink BMX team filmed over the last part of 2015. Filmed by Darryl Tocco, Dan Coller, and Calvin Kosovich in the Southwest USA, California, East Coast USA, Costa Rica, Barcelona, and Latvia. This was an effort to not only get the whole team together, and showcase Kink for 2016…but to also take some time to have fun, shed light on the intricacies of your favorite Kink riders, continue traveling, put a bangin’ soundtrack together, and hope that this project gets you motivated to ride each day you click play!

On top of that….We broke our own guidelines to the video…and present you a full scale, real deal, Dan Coller Video Part. Filmed over the course of 2015 and during the filming for Intervention….there’s not many words that can sum up just how crazy this riding is. It is something you need to witness in video…and hopefully catch a session with Dan in person, to truly appreciate and respect. Dan is pushing burly, fast street riding…at a scary pace.”

It it time for a new BMX Frame? Have you given the Kink Titan frame in Albert Mercado‘s new signature Translucent Copper colorway a look yet? This frame is made from 100% Seamless 4130 Sanko chromoly tubing with a 75-degree head tube angle, 71-degree seat tube angle, 11.75″ bottom bracket height, 8.5″ stand over height and a 13.25″ (slammed) chain stay length. This frame features an integrated head tube with a CNC engraved Kink logo, gussets on the top and down tubes, Internally and Externally machined Spanish bottom bracket, integrated seat post clamp, wide chain stays with rounded bridges for 2.40″ tire clearance, Investment Cast drop outs with integrated chain tensioners and removable brake mounts using the Easy Brake System.

Review: The Shadow Conspiracy – “What Could Go Wrong?”

With fewer and fewer BMX DVD’s being produced every year, it’s getting more and more exciting when an actual BMX video comes out in a hard copy form that you can pop into the DVD player and watch on your TV. What’s even better is when a brand is putting heavy time, energy and resources into producing a video that is worth watching it in that format versus online. Over the course of the past three years, The Shadow Conspiracy team have been busy bouncing around the world stacking clips for their “What Could Go Wrong?” DVD that we have been hearing about since they initially started working on the video. After three years, countless trips and a lot of ups and downs, the video was finally premiered this past weekend in New York City at the House of Vans. Approximately the same time that premiere was going down, we popped open the mailbox to find a copy of the video waiting for us to enjoy. After watching the video, we decided it would be a good idea to get a review out before you drop some money on a copy…

Shadow Conspiracy – Albert Mercado Talks “What Could Go Wrong”

With The Shadow Conspiracy‘s awaited and anticipated DVD “What Could Go Wrong” a little over 2 weeks away from being released, we’re starting to get a little insight into the video starting out with Albert Mercado who talks about what kind of a time frame it was, how it was working with Ryan Chadwick and who his favorite section will be from! Kink – One Hit Wednesday: Albert Mercado

Kink Bike Co. dropped this weeks One Hit Wednesday that features Albert Mercado CHARGING a crazy rail setup! Based off everyones reaction, it doesn’t seem like anyone was expect for this to go as well as it did, haha. Check it!

“We were mob deep with the Kink AM Team of 2010, on a filming trip for “Jetlagged”. A few days in San Diego, and some cruising with Albert and the locals brought us to this school for the Deaf (I think?)…long story short, Albert busted out this insane out rail, with no short hop to it, and the clip turned out great. We even got a young Lahsaan Kobza blonde wig cameo! Enjoy…
