Profile Racing’s Neighbourhood Crawl: TULSA

July 1, 2019

It’s pretty easy to catch a video from Southern California, Barcelona, Spain or one of the many other heavily populated locations that BMX riders tend to flock to, but there are also a ton of great places that don’t get explored nearly as often. Recently, some of the Profile Racing crew spent some time cruising the street spots, parks and ditches around Tulsa, Oklahoma. During their stay, plenty of clips were stacked and good times were had. Hit play and take it all in and think about some of the less common places you could go for some riding!

““For this second installment of Profile’s neighborhood Crawl, we brought Shane and Dillon Leeper as well as Billy Woodfin to Tulsa in the Spring of 2019.

While avoiding the impending, seriously oppressive summer, we used my wife’s house as a homebase, and explored the innards and outards of T-Town for a total of 5 days.

Here’s the fruits of our fun…We hope you enjoy.” – Matt Coplon/Profile

Thanks to Russell Wadlin, Aaron Anderson, and especially Kyle Kisling, for continuing to make Tulsa one of the most enjoyable cities to travel to.

Thanks to Trey Ehart and Entertainment for usage of the song “Confusion of Senses” featured on the album “Gender” released on Stickfigure Records.

Billy Woodfin – My Ramp

June 4, 2019

We always love seeing a video like this, especially since we don’t get too many mini ramp edits to enjoy these days. Here’s a new one Billy Woodfin put together from some of the sessions that he has been getting in on his backyard ramp. This has a ton of awesome lip tricks and front brake magic that is too damn good to miss. Highly suggest you hit play and take this all in!

“I gave myself two weeks to film an edit on my ramp that i have had for a year now all except one clip was filmed in that time frame the other clip was filmed a month before when i tried to do the same thing but got hurt. Every clip was filmed on a tripod (or Shovel used as tripod) with either my gopro or an iphone i had laying around. I would like to thank Standard Byke Company, Profile Racing, SCG shoes and Albe’s Mail Order for the continued support!! I would also like to thank Trampled By Turtles for allowing me to use their song “Wait So Long”” – Billy Woodfin

A Day At Billy’s

June 20, 2018

Billy Woodfin built up a dream backyard ramp setup!

It’s safe to say most riders dream of one day having something to ride in their own backyard. Pretty much every ramp rider wants a mini ramp in their backyard. Billy Woodfin recently built up a really dialed spine mini in his backyard and threw a big session with some friends to put it to good use. Here’s a bunch of footage Jerrod Glasgow put together from the session! Plenty of amazing riding already going down on that ramp!

“Billy Woodfin built a backyard mini at his house in St. Louis, Missouri. He broke it in the proper way this past Saturday (6/16/18) with a BBQ, friends, adult beverages, and good times! Even though it was a sweltering 97 degrees and the Mid-West humidity made it feel like the pits of hell they rode for a solid 10 hours. Paul Rad and Gage Sharp made the trip to STL from Cleveland to join in on the fun. It wouldn’t be a session without Paul Rad’s Griz Air and he never disappoints. The young Gage battled through the heat and was the Champion’s Champion of the session. Bobbie Altiser came down from Hannibal, MO and blessed the new mini with his front brake goodness! St. Louis legend and all around ripper Tony T showed up and was doing some pretty impressive brakeless moves, at 42 years young Tony continues to push the STL BMX scene. I snuck one clip of Billy in this little edit because we’re going to hang on to the rest of his footage for an upcoming edit of him and his new ramp.” – Jerrod GlasgowB

Standard Bykes Does Denver

August 17, 2016

The Standard Bykes crew coming through with a fresh video from a team trip they took out to Denver, Colorado to cruise street spots, ditches, trails spots and more, along with cause havoc in the hotel. Hit play to check out a bunch of clips they stacked during their stay!

“Today we are proud to bring you Standard Does Denver, a trip video with Standard’s Billy Woodfin, Zack Gerber, Chase Pauza, Matt Lough, Johnny Del Balso, Sam Stebila, and Riley Guest as they make their way from brand HQ in Davenport, Iowa to the Mile High City Denver, Colorado. BMX and road trips have always gone hand in hand, there’s no better a way to bring a team together, ride, film, and get into random adventures along the way! After you are done watching, read more about the trip from Billy Woodfin below…” – DIG

“We started out the trip by meeting in Davenport at the Standard Byke Co. headquarters. After some last minute preparations and bike rack modifications, we were on the road to Colorado. We piled into my car to meet with the rest of the team that was flying in. Some of us had been on the road together before, but for others this was a new experience. The drive is a long one, so we made due riding goofy setups at Nebraska rest stops while truckers slept in the parking lot. After a long 16 hour drive, we finally made it to Denver ready to shred. I really wanted to put this trip together to show that Standard Byke Co. is still around and kicking ass. We’re a very diverse team of riders but still have that classic Midwest style.
Aside from showing everyone that Standard hasn’t gone anywhere, we really wanted to show that you don’t need tons of money or fancy sponsors to put together a badass trip. We also wanted to emphasize that BMX is much more than just riding bikes. BMX is about the experiences and memories you make with some of your best friends or even complete strangers. Needless to say, we kept to the classic BMX objective, which is being carefree and having a blast.
There are too many great stories to tell in just 1 short article. A lot of wildness went down, and not all of it was just riding. One day Zack Gerber, Chase Pauza and I decided to start walking up the side of a mountain in the continental divide with no shirts and riding shoes, and Chase was in his underwear. We only intended on hiking a couple hundred feet, but weren’t satisfied once we got there. After 2 hours of hiking we found ourselves at about 14,000ft elevation. It was absolutely exhausting and treacherous. We almost died a couple times sinking into deep snow trying to reach the summit. The hike down was harder than the hike up, being delusional from lack of oxygen and exhaustion. We probably should have brought water too. One of the best clips we got on the trip was a result of true teamwork. We got kicked out of an epic spot before Zack had a chance to get a clip he had in mind for quite some time. We all decided to split up to try and distract the security guard elsewhere. The security found me in a parking lot by myself and began asking where the rest of us went. I knew how important this clip was, so I did everything I possibly could to keep the idiot distracted. Asking him everything from “Where is the nearest gas station?” to ” Where do babies come from?”. After around only 10 minutes of distraction, the guys came running back up the parking lot absolutely pumped.
The trip was a complete success and I believe the footage will back that up. Everyone rode hard and no one was seriously injured. We had many uncontrollable laughs, bathed in freezing streams, saw amazing sights and rode some unforgettable setups, which made this adventure a prime example of a good ol BMX roadtrip. #rideforglenn”
