Calling the Shots with Daniel Dhers

September 27, 2013

Daniel Dhers is a goofy bastard, haha. In this new episode of Calling The Shots from Network A, Daniel calls out a bunch of tricks and does a little trash talking while he’s at it. If you can’t laugh at this, you probably haven’t been riding very long.

“In this extra salty episode of Calling The Shots, X Games gold medalist and Dew Tour Champ Daniel Dhers takes BMX’s biggest pros to task on this tricks and style by trying to one-up their signature tricks, or even better, straight up calling them out. Jamie Bestwick, Alistair Whitton, Scotty Cranmer, Maddog, Mike Hucker Clark, Alessandro Barbero and even Dave Mirra get called out in this one!” – Network A

Tristan Gray Edit

September 27, 2013

I don’t think I’ll ever figure out why the hell Australians are so damn good at riding, but it would appear young gun, Tristan Gray, is another one of the wildcats coming up from there. Check out this quick video featuring a few banger clips before he took a digger and broke his wrist cutting filming short.

14 Husky “All You Can Eat” – Full Video

September 27, 2013

Here’s an awesome way to start your Friday off right! The 14 Husky guys dropped their full-length “All You Can Eat” DVD online for our viewing pleasure. This video features a ton of really good riding from the whole crew and some great East Coast spots. Hit that play button!

““All You Can Eat” is the long awaited sequel to our first video “The Graveyard Shift” from 2010 when we were still calling ourselves HPV (Hyde Park Veterans). After planning to release the next video as “The Graveyard Shift 2” in winter 2011 our “careless” lifestyles lead us to focus less on filming and more on enjoying the ride. After almost 2 years of just making quick web edits we decided it was time to try and buckle down and really get some solid clips from everyone in our area and people we knew from other areas of Massachusetts. By this time we had renamed ourselves 14 Husky, after the pant size of chubby kids, keeping in the tradition of having a name that was a joke to us and interesting to everyone else. After 2 summers of filming we finally felt we had enough footage and enough people contributing to the project to come out with a video; and with a new crew name we felt we needed a new title for the video. Since Animal’s groundbreaking “Can I Eat” video was very inspirational to us as kids starting out we decided to go with “All You Can Eat” to pay tribute to their video and also go along with our new name.

The video features full parts from Petey Henkel, Coleman Lopes, Lenny Goodale, Dave Riker and Jake Molineux. Edited by Dave Riker and filmed by Dave and many others.

Since each of our styles is very different it’s a pretty well rounded street video with what we feel is a pretty “old school” soundtrack.

Jake Molineux is only 16 and has some of the craziest skills on rails that I’ve ever seen. I really think that his banger part in this video is gonna put him on the map and get him the recognition that he deserves for hucking it down rails.” -Lenny Goodale

Insight: Deluxe – U.S Versus Taiwan Production

September 26, 2013

PA Model

BMX is interesting because there are so many factors that determine the frames and parts we ride. Cost and availability of materials, technology, time schedules, quantity and quality control issues are all things that most of us don’t really think about when it comes to buying something new for our bike. However, those are just some of the things brands have to consider when it comes to making the decision to have their products made in Taiwan, the U.S or anywhere else in the world.
Recently, Deluxe announced that Mark Potoczny’s signature PA Model frame would be available in two versions; made in the U.S and made in Taiwan. Over the years we have seen a handful of brands do products between the two and with the U.S option appearing to become more and more appealing of an option for production again, I figured it would be an awesome time to catch up with Deluxe’s Mark Noble to find out what lead to some of the decisions to give the U.S production a run and what kinds of differences we can find between the two production locations. Let’s see what he had to say along with a closer look at both frames!

Vans – Trails Mission 2013

September 26, 2013

There hasn’t been a short supply of dialed trails videos popping up these days! Turns out Vans recently had a few guys cruising around Belgium to see what the trails scene is like. They came back with this dialed video filled with awesome trails and riding. Check it!

“Here’s the Vans Trails Mission 2013 video montage of the Vans BMX dirt riders shred down at some of the most famous trails Belgium has to offer. We teamed up with FMX4EVER to squeeze out and enjoy the last little bit of summer with an epic road trip. Together with GroundedBMX filming, a rad team and some special guests the trip became all-dirt, all the time. We spent 3 days as a community of like minded people in the woods, riding with friends and pushing ourselves to ride as much as possible, all while having the most fun we can. Sessions kicked off and the crew was going hard as ever to clock footage. The Vans Trails Mission 2013 was pure fire, you gotta watch this one! Features Vans Team riders Kenneth Tancre, Nico Vink, Greg Van Tulder, Sven Grieten, Sig Cools, Bart Mol and friends. Special thanks to all the trail diggers, ErmiteTrails, SevenTrails, MXTrails, FMX4EVER and friends for helping make this trip happen! We damn sure made the most out of it, cause when we showcase something we make sure it’s worth it!
