As they say, all good things must come to an end at some point. After five years and five different versions of Hoang Tran‘s signature Villicus frame from Subrosa, the final version is being released as we type this. The Villicus Infinity, which marks the 5th version of this series that has seen the Villicus, Villicus II, Villicus Prime and Villicus Prime II previously, will be the last in the series. Not to say that Hoang will no longer be apart of the Subrosa team, because he definitely will and will probably end up with a different signature frame at some point. They’re just retiring the long standing Villicus frame. So, with that being said, we figured there’s no better time than now to give you a close up look at the Villicus Infinity. Ready? Due for a new BMX Frame? If you’re looking into the Simone Barraco signature Noster III frame from Subrosa, then you will have two new color options starting this month; Satin Purple and Mattiest Black. These are due to start hitting BMX shops and mail-orders that carry Subrosa worldwide close to the middle of the month, so get ready!
A few months ago we got a look at the new Proper Bike Co. Tecmatik frame that they have been working on over the U.K. The plan for the frame? It’s a straight forward frame without too many bells and whistles other than being durable to handle todays riding. This full 4130 chromoly frame has a 75-degree head tube angle, 71-degree seat tube angle, 11.6″ bottom bracket height, 8.9″ stand over height and 13.38″ chainstay length (13.05″ slammed). You can find laser cut top and down tube gussets, a tapered Mid bottom bracket, integrated seat post clamp, curved seat and chain stay bridges, tapered seat and chain stays, 5mm thick heat-treated 14mm drop outs. The frame has clearance for 2.40″ tires and 28-tooth sprockets.
The Tecmatik is hitting BMX shops and mail-orders that carry Proper Bike Co. worldwide now. It’s available in 20.7″ and 21″ top tube lengths, colors of raw and ED black with a weight of 4 lb. 13 oz.

Is it time for a new BMX Frame? Did you know that Ed Zunda‘s new signature Awake frame from Wethepeople is available now? This frame is made from full seamless 4130 Japanese chromoly tubing with a 75.5-degree head tube angle, 70.5-degree seat tube angle, 11.75″ bottom bracket height, 8.75″ stand over height and a 13.15″ – 13.70″ chainstay length. You can find a CNC machined and heat-treated integrated head tube, top and down tube gussets, an extruded top tube with integrated cable threads making for a stiffer tube, CNC machined and heat-treated Mid bottom bracket, CNC machined seat and chain stay bridges, an integrated seat post clamp, dent resistant rear triangle with 2.40″ tire clearance, 6mm thick Investment Cast heat-treated drop outs and removable brake mounts.
The Awake frame is available in top tube lengths 20.85″ and 21.15″ with matte black and translucent Frost blue for colors, a weight of 5.2 lb. (21.15″) and a price tag of around $319.99. This frame is available through BMX shops and mail-orders that carry Wethepeople worldwide now.
