There’s an interesting write up on the FBM website by Steve Crandall about the process that went into re-designing their Steadfast frame. It’s a little different than most, with inspiration with the process that Bianchi does, Steve spent a lot of time testing out the frame through his travels to trails, skateparks, pools and more. We’ve seen a lot of space themed colorways pop up over the course of the past year from Celestial Colorway parts with the addition of their Celestial Protocol HT Cranks and Odyssey’s Galaxy themed seats and pedals, so we weren’t too surprised to see some other brands playing around with it! We spotted on Instagram that Stereo Bike Co. are playing around with the “Supernova” colorway on a frame. This is just a prototype sample and they didn’t specify if it will end up going into production or really too many other details… But it looks pretty wild!

S&M Bikes have released a new colorway of the Clint Reynolds signature C.C.R frame for you to get your hands on. The Dark Roast C.C.R frame is made right here in the U.S.A from 4130 chromoly tubing with a 74.25″ head tube angle, 71-degree seat tube angle, 11.61″ bottom bracket height, 9″ stand over height and a 13.9″ chainstay length. The frame features an engraved Shovel slogo on the integrated head tube, a gusset on the down tube, a Mid bottom bracket, welded cable guides with an internal seat tube guide and welded on chainstay brake mounts, an integrated seat post clamp and smaller 3/8″ drop outs.
The C.C.R frame is available in 21″, 21.25″ and 21.5″ top tube lengths, colors of Dark Roast, chrome and flat clear coat raw, a weight of 4.45 lbs and a price tag of $369.99. This frame also comes with Shield stickers and a Credence stencil for you to customize to your liking.
The other day we caught a quick glimpse of this frame and for one reason or another thought it was just a random one off frame somebody had S&M or somebody else make. Then today we noticed a blog Brian Tunney wrote about the frame and we realized this is actually a prototype signature frame that United Bike Co. is working on with Mike Escamilla that will be available sooner than later. We’ve seen the bash guard make appearances multiple times over BMX’s short history, between frames that came with them and some after market ones like the guard Fly Bikes and Ruben Alcantara worked on, to that BMX Grind Bottom Bracket Guard we haven’t heard anything about or seen anyone riding. A lot of older guys talk about how BMX trends tend to go in circles… Things that were popular fade out, then years later come back stronger than before. Maybe this will be the revival of the integrated bash guard? We’ll just have to wait and see how things go when this frame comes out. Expect more details once it’s closer to release! It sounds like there is a nylon bash plate that is attached to the tubing that goes around the bottom bracket, so you’ll be sliding smooth.

The Dillon Lloyd signature “Buck” frame from Wethepeople is available now. This BMX frame is made from butted, seamless Japanese 4130 chromoly tubing with a 75.5-degree head tube angle, 71-degree seat tube angle, 11.8″ bottom bracket height, 9.125″ standover height and 13.3″ slammed chainstay length. The Buck frame features a taller 127mm height on the CNC machined and heat-treated Integrated head tube, gussets on the top and down tubes, an extruded top tube with integrated cable guides, a CNC machined and heat-treated MID bottom bracket, an integrated seat post clamp, a wider rear triangle for 2.40″ tire clearance, ovalized chain stays to help resist denting and 7mm thick heat-treated Investment Cast dropouts.

For 2016, FBM have a new version of their Gypsy frame that’s ready to hit BMX shops and mail-orders around the world. This frame, which is made right here in the U.S.A, is made from 4130 chromoly with a 75-degree head tube angle, 71-degree seat tube angle, 11.5″ bottom bracket height, 8.75″ stand over height and a 13.50″ chainstay length. The frame features all new graphics by Thomas Hooper, gussets on the top and down tubes, a MID bottom bracket, an integrated seat post clamp, wide back end to fit 2.40″ tires and removable seat stay brake mounts.
