The rim features a wider cross-section than normal to compliment modern tire widths. Designed as a semi-brakeless rim that can be run front or rear. Odyssey Hazard Lite Rim Celebrates 15 Years

If you have been riding BMX for a long time, you know by now that many products come and go pretty quick, dependent on how well they sell and if it holds a positive reputation for getting the job done. Unfortunately with how fast trends can come and go, a lot of great products disappear sooner than later. There are very few products that last more than a few years and even fewer that last a decade without many changes. Eclat – Raven Rim

Here is a look at a new BMX rim we spotted at Interbike 2016 from Eclat. The Raven rim is made from 6069-T6 alloy with a 36mm width, extra rounded edges to help prevent pinch flats, extra thick sidewalls to help resist denting, a deep channel to make it easier to install or remove tires, a lower profile sidewall with a slight angle for looks, but still brake compatible and extra thick, offset spoke holes for strength. Flybikes – 2017 Dark Gold Parts

It looks like Fly Bikes will be keeping their Dark Gold color around for another year! Here’s a sneak peek look they dropped online earlier today giving us a look at all the parts that will be available in the color including their new Lunar Rim and the Volcano front and top load stems. You can also find the Piramide rim, Tractor Sprocket and Tractor XL Sprocket, Roey stem, Mid bottom bracket, headset and Tripod post! Expect these all to be available at the end of October / early November with the rest of their 2017 product.

Flybikes – Space Grey Colorway

Flybikes keeping the 2017 previews coming. This time around we get a look at their parts in their new Space Grey colorway. Based on the photo, we can see their Piramide rim and the new Lunar rim, the Tractor and Tractor XL sprocket, Roey stem, Tripod seat post, Rotar bottom bracket and headset and the new front and topload Volcano stems. Really digging the clean look that this color gives everything! It sounds like the new 2017 products from Flybikes will be dropping at the end of October / early November, so keep your eye out for it if you’re digging this.

The Tractor Sprocket in the new Space Grey color.

The larger version of the Tractor sprocket, the Tractor XL sprocket in the new Space Grey color. This sprocket is unique because it’s 16mm thick in the center, eliminating the need for spacers and a bottom bracket dust cover, then tapers down to 6mm at the teeth like a traditional sprocket. Clean and simple.

Sneak Peek: Flybikes – Lunar Rim

It looks like Flybikes have decided to revamp their popular Classic rim for 2017. Flybikes have released a few sneak previews of their new Lunar rim that will be hitting BMX shops and mail-orders toward the end of October / Early November. The rim features extra rounded edges to help resist ping flats, a deeper rim bed to make it easier to seat the tire, increased the overall width of the rim with offset spoke holes to increase the strength and kept the extra drilled holes for rotational weight savings. The rim also features a welded seam, which was really popular on their original Classic rim. The Lunar rim will be available in black, dark gold and their new Space Grey colorway through BMX shops and mail-orders that carry Flybikes worldwide toward the end of October!

Merritt BMX – Battle Rim

Merritt coming through with a new rim to add to their growing line of products. The Battle Rim steps away from the low profile trend we’ve been seeing in BMX with some taller sidewalls to give the rim a little more beef. The Battle rim is made from 6061-aluminum with a 39mm width and a welded seam to ensure strength. We’re assuming it’s a double wall rim and it appears to have a beefier ridge in the middle to help prevent spokes from blowing out. We’re not sure if the rim will be available in more colors than black, but we can tell you it weighs in at 21.2 oz. and will be available for $79.99 through BMX shops and mail-orders that carry Merritt worldwide.

Product: Salt Plus – Acid Cyan Colorway

Salt Plus have released their new 2016 range of products through their dealers worldwide. One group of products in particular we were looking forward to the release of are the Acid Cyan colorway parts that we caught a sneak peek of a little while back. Now that they’re finally here, we figured it would be a good time to give you a look at their Trapeze V2 freecoaster, Trapez V2 Cassette, Trapeze V2 front hub, Orion full guard sprocket, Mesa rim and Center V2 top load stem that all come in the color.
