It’s that time of the year when BMX brands start to release their new range of products. For 2016, Eclat have a handful of new products from cranks to stems, bars, pedals and hubs to see. We figured it would be a good time to take a closer look at each of the items. Is it time for a new BMX Stem? Are you looking for something to raise your bars up a little higher? Get a closer look at the Mutiny Bikes Lifted XL stem. This stem is CNC machined from 6061 aluminum alloy with two sizes available; 48mm and 53mm. Both sizes of the Lifted XL stem comes with a 33mm stack height and 33mm (1mm inverted) rise with internal and external machining for additional weight savings and a clean look, a rounded back to be more knee friendly, a recessed top for a flush fork compression cap, 6 solid chromoly bolts to keep it all tight and then a few logos on the top plate and sides to finish it off. This stem weighs in at 12.2 oz. (48mm) and 13 oz (53mm).
The Lifted XL stem is available in colors of rubbed oil, black and camouflage through BMX shops and mail-orders that carry Mutiny Bikes worldwide for around $59.99 – $69.99 dependent on color.
In the BMX world, top load stems have definitely taken over with the demand for higher bars. Although they might not be as popular as they once were, the front load stem still gets a lot of love from all over the world. S&M Bikes wanted to make sure you front load stem lovers were still getting some love, so they have released the latest version of their ever popular Redneck stem for you to get your hands on. The Shredneck is CNC machined from 6061-T6 aluminum with a 50mm reach and 7mm rise (24.75mm inverted). The stem features a clean look all around with beveled edges, a slim back to keep it knee friendly, an internal bore to help reduce weight, multiple laser etched S&M logos, a recessed top for a flush fork compression cap and 6 solid chromoly bolts to keep it all tight.
The Shredneck stem is available in raw and matte black with a weight of 11 oz. through all BMX shops and mail-orders that carry S&M Bikes for around $59.99 now.

Odyssey have been doing some really rad products to celebrate the brands 30 year anniversary. Today they will be releasing a VERY limited run of 30 Sean Sexton signature SXTN stems in this “Water Color” colorway. These will be available exclusively in the Odyssey Webstore. Once all 30 are sold, they are gone… No more. So, you will need to keep an eye on all of Odyssey’s social media channels and / or their web store to make sure you can pick one up. We have a feeling these will not last more than an hour tops.

Looking for a new BMX Stem? Have you seen the Kirpich topload stem from Stress yet? This stem is CNC machined from 6061-T6 with a 52mm reach and 32mm rise. There’s additional machining all around the stem from the sides to the bottom and top plate for additional weight savings, a recessed top for a flush fork compression cap and beveled edges and a round back to make it knee friendly. The Kirpich stem weighs in at 11 oz. and comes in colors of black, polished, raw, oil slick and gold with black splatter.

Over the years, we’ve seen some interesting colorway combos come out for BMX bikes and we’re sure they will just keep coming. For example, Colony just released TWO new colors we don’t recall ever seeing before — Blue Bubble and Scratch black. It looks like these colors will be available on their
Cadiz sprocket, CC sprocket, Squareback stem and Official stem at the moment. But, we have a feeling this might expand into frames, fork and bars in the future. What do you think?
