Weird & Revered – The Lost “Far North” Tapes

Justin Schwanke coming through with a video from a trip to Alaska that never made its way online…

We’re always stoked to see a fresh Weird & Revered video, even if it took two years for the footage to make its way online. Back in 2016 Justin Schwanke took a trip to Alaska to do some riding and to take in the sights. Here’s a bunch of footage from the trip that is just making its appearance online. Looks like it was a great trip to us!

““Back in 2016 I decided that rather than attending my University graduation, I should road trip up to Alaska. It seemed like an appropriate way to celebrate my freedom from studying. So that’s what I did. I traveled north through Alberta, British Columbia, the Yukon, and finally to Alaska. Along the way, I filmed some clips with various people and with various cameras. When I got home I sourced a bunch of the footage from friends and started to edit. However, I was met with immediate frustration. Some of the files were corrupted and others wouldn’t import into my editing program. I tried my best to resolve the issues, but I was unable to make any progress. I eventually accepted defeat. Fast forward about a year and half later, and armed with an updated editing program, I chose to give it another go. Round two proved successful. This is a video documenting my travels atop two wheels in The Far North. Enjoy!” -Justin Schwanke

Jeff Purdy has been doing it for The Daily Grind for a little while now. Once he joined the team he went straight into filming footage for their next DVD that’s in the works, so he hasn’t had anything to really announce the news until now! Here’s one we’ve been anxiously waiting to see! Flybikes just released this new video featuring Courage Adams putting his signature Savanna Frame and bars to work on the streets. Over the last few years, we’ve come to learn that Courage is an absolute machine and has some of the craziest bike control, balance and style that never fails to make our jaws drop. The way he puts a cassette hub to work makes us wonder why people even use freecoasters sometimes! This video is just shy of 2 minutes long and it’s loaded with some serious nose balance, manual lines and more. Subrosa – Matt Ray Rye Airfield Takeover

What happens when you give Matt Ray a place to ride like Rye Airfield all to himself? Bangers.

Subrosa just dropped this new video featuring Matt Ray going to work during some private riding time he got in at Rye Airfield with a few friends. Matt is the kind of rider that can absolutely slay rails and ledges, but he also has a deep bag of tricks when it comes to blasting quarterpipes, box jumps and more. Needless to say, Matt put his skills to work all over Rye Airfield. Hit play and take it all in!

Alexis Desolneux at the Skatepark of Tampa

Alex Desolneux went to work at the Skatepark of Tampa…

It’s always rad seeing the flatland guys riding ramps or street spots because they always come through with something different and uniqe that makes for a video you can’t look away from. This new one Alexis Desolneux uploaded from a session at the Skatepark of Tampa is a perfect example of that. This one might be short and sweet, but there’s some unique lines and a grind I’m sure a bunch of you have never even considered trying in this. Hit play and take a peek! You won’t be disappointed.

“Everything happens for a reason. I met Matt Coplon (who filmed clips and edited this) through writing letters and trading tapes/records of our respective obscure hardcore bands around 1995-96. None of us knew we both loved BMX until 1998 when I mentioned coming over to Florida to enter X-Games qualifications in St-Petersburg. When bridges between the DIY HC/punk and BMX scenes took me on bridges over the Tampa Bay. A place I had only heard of through its death metal history. It’s no coincidence I’m here, I love both. DEATH Leprosy. MORBID ANGEL Gateways to Annihilation. ASSÜCK Misery Index. REVERSAL OF MAN… And now HORSEWHIP. That music scene. These bands and records. These people.
Skatepark Of Tampa. The most iconic skatepark in the world. Supporting BMX since Day 1. UNBROKEN played in 1993. If only I could have been there. Or ASSÜCK. Or any of the many 90’s shows the park welcomed.
2018, I want to see this little edit as a chance to thank SpoT for the great times and all my people in Tampa, from BMX, skateboarding and music, and in more than one case sharing these worlds. Just like flatland can inspire some street/park riding. It’s all connected. This edit wouldn’t be without taking in all of these different sources of energy and inspiration.

Kansas Machine Broken

Noah Huntzinger and Rahlin Rigsby do Kansas…

Here’s a fresh BMX video featuring Noah Huntzinger and Rahlin Rigsby having two very productive days in Wichita, Kansas. We don’t see too many BMX videos coming out of Kansas in general, and we can’t remember the last time we saw footage from Wichita, but it looks like the city has spots. The “Land of Milk & Honey” DVD from Atlantis Vancouver is now online!

Here’s a little gem that just made its way online for your viewing pleasure! Atlantis Vancouver have uploaded their “Land of Mike & Honey” in all its glory for your viewing pleasure. This video is 17 minutes long an features a bunch of familiar faces putting in work on street spots, pools and more. Brad Hill handled the filming and editing and did a damn fine job with it. Great riding and good vibes. Don’t pass this BMX video up!
