BSD BMX Kriss Kyle Bike Check

It’s that time again! BSD caught up with Kriss Kyle to take a closer look at his current signature Passenger setup decked out 100% in BSD parts. As always, Kriss has a clean setup with the slammed seat and everything looking dialed. It doesn’t appear to have any sneak peeks on it beyond the new Gorilla Grip Over Size Bar and Stem that uses the 25.4mm bar and stem size. You can check out a whole bunch of detailed photos and a full parts list on the BSD website — Kriss Kyle Bike Check!

BSD – Alex Donnachie Signature Donnastreet Tire

May 8, 2017

The new Donnastreet Tire has arrived…

BSD Donnastreet Tire BMX Alex Donnachie

Is it time for a new set of BMX tires? Here’s a look at the new Donnastreet tire from BSD. The Donnastreet Tire is Alex Donnachie‘s second signature tire and it’s based off the original Donnasqueak tire that was originally released in 2014. This tire is made from the same grippy and squeaky rubber compound with a smooth center tread to reduce rolling resistance with Z shaped grooves on the sides to give you additional traction while turning. Inside you can find a tear resistant Silkworm casing to help resist flats.

The Donnastreet has a 110 PSI rating, comes in widths of 2.30″ and 2.40″, black for the only color (for now) and a weight of 25.75 oz. (730g / 2.40″ size). You will be able to pick it up from BMX shops and mail-orders that carry BSD worldwide starting this month.

Don’t worry! If you’re a fan of the original Donnasqueak tire, those will still be available and continue to be produced!

Available in black only with 2.30″ and 2.40″ sizes available! These tires are Alex Donnachie’s signature tire, so you know they’re going to be perfect for getting down on street spots and even skateparks. We can’t guarantee they will make you ride like him though!

The tire is made from the same grippy and squeaky rubber material as the original Donnsqueak tire, with a smooth center tread and Z shaped grooves on the sides. You can also find all over micro-knurling to help with the traction.

BSD Introduce Gorilla Grip Over Size Bar and Stem System (25.4mm)

May 4, 2017

Will we start seeing more bars and stems available in 25.4mm? It looks that way..

BSD Gorilla Grip Over Size Bars and Stem BMX

It looks like Wethepeople and Eclat aren’t the only ones giving the 25.4mm size bars and stems a go. The crew at BSD will be offering their new “Gorilla Grip OS System” with over sized 25.4mm bars and stems a go. The system increases the diameter of the bars tubing that meets the stem for increased clamping area (roughly 14% more) from 7/8″ to the bigger 25.4mm (1″) size. The size change might not be excessively obvious, but the larger tubing of the bars and stem does increase surface area for clamping, which does help resist slipping better.

The Raider, Safari and Passenger bars will all be available in this new 25.4mm size, along with their existing 7/8″ size they were originally made in. So, you don’t have to convert if you aren’t feeling buying a new stem and bars.

Here’s a look at a 7/8″ bar on the left next to the new 25.4mm (1″) bar on the right. The change isn’t super noticeable. Unfortunately you MUST use a 25.4mm stem with 25.4mm bars, and 7/8″ stems with 7/8″ bars since these aren’t cross compatible.

The new Gorilla Grip OS System stems look like the originals, just a little bigger diameter for the bars to fit in.

The new Gorilla Grip OS System bars and stems will be available through BMX shops and mail-orders that carry BSD worldwide starting this month!

BSD – Jonesin Fork

April 27, 2017

Let’s take a look at the new Jonesin Fork from BSD…

BSD Jonesin Fork BMX

If you’re jonesing for a new BMX Fork, then you’re in luck. The crew over at BSD will be releasing their new Jonesin Fork in May! This fork is made from fully heat-treated 4130 chromoly tubing with a CNC Machined one piece steerer tube, integrated headset race tapered and butted legs with clearance for 2.40″ tires, Investment Cast dropouts with a 22mm offset and a 7075 aluminum compression cap to keep everything tight.

The Jonesin fork will be available in Stainless and Gloss Black with a weight of 2.2 lbs. through BMX shops and mail-orders that carry BSD worldwide starting in May 2017.

“The new Jonesin’ fork design centres around a short 22mm offset invest cast dropout that brings your front wheel in closer to the steerer tube line giving your bikes front end that quick snappy feel for front wheel tricks. The dropouts are designed with clearance for fat plastic pegs in mind too. The rest of the fork benefits from being constructed using fully heat treated 4130 chromoly featuring a one piece CNC machined steerer tube and tapered butted fork legs for ultimate strength while maintaining light weight.” – BSD

BSD – Rude Tube LT Pegs

April 19, 2017

BSD have released their new Rude Tube LT pegs…

BSD Rude Tube LT BMX Pegs Plastic

The guys at BSD have been working on figuring out how to make their Dan Paley signature Rude Tube pegs lighter, without sacrificing strength. It looks like they have done the trick and have just released their new Rude Tube LT Pegs. These BMX pegs start out with a lightweight 7075 alloy inner peg with a heat-treated chromoly insert and then the durable plastic sleeve that slides on over the top.

The Rude Tube LT Pegs are available in 4.2″ length or an XL size of 4.5″, weigh in at 115 grams / 4.05 oz. (33% lighter than the original) and come in 10mm or 14mm sizes. These are available through BMX shops and mail-orders that carry BSD worldwide now. Get more details on this new peg below.

Also, if you don’t like lighter… The original Rude Tube pegs with a full chromoly core will still be available.

BSD Rude Tube LT BMX Pegs Plastic

“This Rude Tube peg has gone on a diet!! Let’s face it, who wouldn’t like to save some weight on their bike, 4 pegs weigh quite a lot but they don’t have to.

When setting out to design a lighter weight version of our original chromoly cored Rude Tube peg we wanted to come up with a new design that solves some of the issues of switching to an alloy inner. The problem with most alloy pegs is that they deform at the axle end. The Rude Tube LT doesn’t, using the same plastic outer as the Rude Tube peg, the LT has a tough 7075 alloy inner with a heat treated chromo adaptor at the dropout interface which won’t lose it’s shape from over tightening or when catching an upright.

Weighing 33% less at only 115g each it means you can run 4 pegs with the equivalent weight of just over 2.5.”

BSD – Craig Sime “No Place For No Hero”

April 4, 2017

BSD have released this new gem of a BMX video featuring Craig Sime going to work on street spots around Glasgow! As expected, Craig cooked up a ton of heavy clips packed full of grind combos, freecoaster action, stretched no handers and nose balance on plenty of real good spots. The song choice is definitely on point for this one, too. Take a look. You won’t be disappointed.

“Craig Sime with his first full video for BSD, tearing up the mean streets of Glasgow in the true ‘Wild West’ of Scotland…

Filmed and edited by Luc Lynch-Rice”
