Photogallery: 2014 TRA Double Cross

This past weekend, the Trail Riders of America hosted the Double Cross contest out in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania where they invited out 26 riders to take part in the day filled with racing, tricks and good times. The concept was simple, put two riders head to head on a hybrid track that’s not only built for speed, but for tricks as well and see who can make it to the finish line first. We had our friend Eric Silver out at the event to shoot some photos and he came through with a ton of great shots featuring the likes of Chris Doyle, Van Homan, Brandon Dosch, Scotty Cranmer, Aaron Ross and many more that you can check out in our new photogallery! Red Bull – TRA Double Cross

When the gate drops, the bull shit stops! Check out more footage from the TRA Double Cross that went down last weekend! Seriously can’t get over how rad this event is!

“TRA Double Cross is a one of a kind BMX event that combines trail riding skill and racing strategy. Hosted in the dirt jumping Mecca of eastern Pennsylvania, Double Cross incorporates all the excitement of a BMX dirt jumping event with the head to head action of the early 1970s BMX style. This event is a new platform for top pros to go elbow to elbow, taking BMX racing back to the roots of the sport.” – Red Bull

One of our favorite things is when a photographer we’re not familiar with drops a few samples in our inbox to get a look at! Although we have seen Eddie Welsh‘s name pop up here and there over time, we had no idea that he was out there crushing it behind the lens. Needless to say, we were stoked on the samples he sent over and we decided there was no way we couldn’t do a photogallery! Once we got the photos he wanted to use, we were more than psyched to see what he was holding out. When it comes to Australian street riders Jack Elkins is at the top of the list (hang-5 barspin in the middle of a line!). Seeing him ride in person definitely didn’t disappoint. I got lucky enough to shoot this hefty switch 180 with him while he was on a Fit Bikes Texas to Nevada trip earlier this year.

Red Bull – Raditudes: Kill The Line in Peynier

The new episode of Red Bull‘s Raditudes takes us over to Peynier, France for the Vans Kill The Line contest that looks like it was nothing but good times and antics! Hit that play button to get some laughs!

“In this episode, Ryan Nyquist and Chris Doyle guest star with Anthony, Hucker and Corey Bohan. The boys are at the famous Kill the Line contest in the south of France, enjoying the legendary dirt trails and taking bets on each others fate in the process. Kink – Chris Doyle Vs The Curved Rail

Chris Doyle is pretty notorious for his trails skills, but he also is known to drop the hammer on parks and streets too! This BMX video Kink dropped gives you a look at a long fought battle filled with a lot of ass kicking on an insanely scary rail that Chris did a while back for the “Safety First” DVD! Needless to say, Chris is the fucking man! Watch this video, then make the jump to watch the full DVD part!

“We were filming for Kinks “Safety First” DVD, and the road had lead us to Atlanta, Georgia. I believe this rail was in Murietta, a suburb of Atlanta. Doyle was pretty heavy into filming mode, shredding everything from street to transitions. When we drove by this rail, he called it out, and we didn’t leave until he pulled it. Short run up, shitty rail, and a seemingly impossible curve. We had only been traveling together as the current Kink team for about a year and a half at this point, and we obviously knew what Doyle was capable of. However, this triumphant session ended up being one of the most intense we had experienced in a long time. This day in Georgia, Doyle showed everyone what it means to not only be a true professional, but also how versatile he really is on a BMX bike.” – Kink
