Colony – Paddy Gross “One Whip Wonder”

Whenever we see Paddy Gross has a new video, we know we’re going to see some amazing ramp riding! Here’s his new one for Colony BMX packed with a ton of crazy lip trick combos with an emphasis on mixing tailwhips into most of the clips. Take a look, because this is an awesome watch!

“The Idea was to come up with as many of my own tailwhip combos in the last 3 months without trying to copy anyone else’s. This has all been self filmed and some of the combos took me months to complete.

My inspiration comes from legendary BMX legends such as Dave Freimuth, Dave Osato, Clint Millar, Tobias Wicke, Nick Harkins, Tom Haugen, Jason Enns, Axel Reichertz, Dave Mirra to only name a few and I took individual tricks from either and put them together. Freestyle!

Colony Swarm Freecoaster Promo

The Planetary internals have been an absolute game changer for freecoaster hubs, and there’s been a bunch of brands utilizing it for their own version of the hub design. Colony BMX have released their Swarm Freecoaster that utilizes these internals. The Colony Swarm Freecoaster Hub is our newest FC hub utilising the ground breaking Planetary coaster internals from the guys at Freenight. It has the weight of a cassette, very minimal slack with an almost instant engagement when pedalling forwards. Yet you have all the good properties of a FC hub when rolling backwards with no engagement or the need to back pedal. These are the best FC hubs available on the planet hands down.

Please Note: If pulling apart the hub, do not add grease or lubricant! These hubs need to be run dry.

Has the feel & performance of a cassette hub with all the good properties of a free coaster hub when rolling backwards. It’s a hub with best of both words of cassette & free coasters.

“2021 was another crazy year, starting off with some fun trips before parts of Australia were locked down yet again which really restricted us getting together as much as we would have liked.

We made it work as best as we could and still got some great footage from the crew. Let’s hope we can get on the road more this coming year.
