Lauren Mirra Talks Dave Mirra’s Final Days & Battle with CTE

When we first heard that Dave Mirra had passed away and the circumstances, much like many of you, we were in disbelief and trying to understand why somebody who had everything could take their life. Today, X-Games released a new interview with Dave Mirra’s wife, Lauren, discussing some of his final weeks and days leading up to the incident. They also discuss the brain test results verifying that Dave was battling Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy, the same thing researchers are finding on NFL players brains with many concussions, which explains the struggle and state of mind he was battling with in those final months, weeks and days.

World of X Games – Remembering Mirra – Full Show

Over the weekend, X Games aired a documentary on Dave Mirra and his incredible talent and influence he had all over the world from BMX to what he was doing off his bike on ABC. Remembering Mirra – Trailer

The X Games will be doing a full feature on Dave Mirra this Saturday, April 30th at 2 PM (Eastern Time) for their “World of X Games” series on ABC. This is going to be one of those shows you cannot pass up seeing. It still seems unreal that Dave is no longer with us… Rest in Peace, Dave. We all miss you.

Dave Mirra To Be Inducted Into USA BMX Hall of Fame

The X-Games have just announced that Dave Mirra will be inducted into the USA BMX Hall of Fame, along with the one and only Dennis McCoy, on June 11th at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, California. X-Games Adds Dave Mirra Best Trick Park Competition

The X-Games have announced that they will be adding a tribute to Dave Mirra at this years event in Austin, Texas. They will be doing a Best Trick contest in the park course (which is being brought back this year as well) to pay their respects to Dave and all the medals he accumulated over his years. The Last Days of BMX Superstar Dave Mirra

There’s an interesting story up on the New York Magazine website that gives a little insight into the last days of Dave Mirra‘s life, along with a lot of insight into his life growing up, sucesses, failures and what might have caused his decision to leave this world early. “Pro Town: Greenville” – Full Video

Mark Losey has just uploaded the entire “Pro Town: Greenville” BMX video he produced online for everyones viewing pleasure! This video came out back in 2011 right around the time Greenville was a huge BMX scene. Although things have calmed down there over the years, it’s still one of BMX’s most well known places in the world. This video features Dave Mirra, Ryan Nyquist and pretty much every other big name rider that has called the place home over the years, giving you some insight into what it was like living there, along with plenty of amazing riding and hilarious extras. Mike Fede – Ride For Mirra

Since Dave Mirra’s passing, we’ve seen a number of riders find ways to pay tribute to him, to say thanks for the influence that he had on their lives over the years. Today, Eric Silver hit us with a link to a new BMX video he put together featuring Mike Fede replicating the classic basketball hoop wall slap that Dave did back in 2004 that burned an an image in most of our brains. Hit play with a few words from Mike, along with a look at the build process and then a little riding action.

“The BMX community was devastated by the loss of BMX legend, Dave Mirra. This motivated Mike Fede to try something he’d always wanted to do in the style of Dave, and so with the help of a few good friends, we set out to make it happen.
