DK = No More Bikes in Wal-Mart – More BMX Videos

Well, here’s some interesting news that I’d imagine some of you guys will be psyched to hear… DK Bicycles are no longer selling to Wal-Mart so they can focus on core shops and mail-orders. Sounds like good news to us!

“Effective immediately, DK will no longer be shipping complete bikes to Wal-Mart stores. Here’s the official word on this and their current focus from The Beard.

2015 Brett Banasiewicz Benefit Jam at Ollies Skatepark

A few weeks back, the guys at Ollies Skatepark threw a jam to help raise some funds for Brett Banasiewciz’s recovery and his skatepark, The Kitchen! Here’s a video DK Bicycles dropped giving us a look at some of the riding that went into it along with some commentary from a few of the guys behind the jam to make it happen!

“Brett Banasiewicz & The Kitchen Skatepark benefit fundraiser jam. Big thanks to Joey Hill for getting this going and huge thanks to everyone that came out, rode, donated, and had a good time. Shout out to Bob (owner of Ollies skatepark) for letting us host the jam at his park and donating a portion of the days admission sales to Brett and his park!
Brett Banasiewicz suffered a life changing crash nearly 2 years ago and is still tirelessly recovering and fighting his way back to the top. His skatepark, The Kitchen, in South Bend Indiana is also at risk of closing its doors. Give Brett and helping hand and donate whatever you can to his park at gofundme.com/SaveTheKitchen

Brian Kachinsky Off DK Bicycles BMX

It’s about that time of the year when we will start seeing some interesting sponsor changes for people. Today, Brian Kachinsky announced on Instagram that he would be parting ways with DK Bicycles after 10 years on the team! No word on what Brian’s future plans are, but it sounds like he has something lined up for himself. Check out what he had to say below…

“At the end of 2014 I have decided to part ways with DK Bikes. Over the past 10 years as a part of the DK family they have supported me through plenty of highs and lows. Everyone at DK has always stood strongly behind me and I’ve developed friendships that will last a lifetime. I can’t thank them enough for what’s been the best decade of my life thus far. 2015 will bring about some exciting changes but I will always have the utmost respect and appreciation for everyone at DK. It’s been a wild ride. Thank you.” – Brian Kachinsky

full_bischoff_209885

Well here’s some very surprising news… Matt “The Beard” Bischoff has left his team manager spot at Hyper & Snafu after less than a year to pursue a new opportunity with DK. Not sure exactly what he will be doing there, but I’d imagine it will lead to some good things!

“Super stoked to announce that I am now part of the DK Bicycles family! I have been friends with everyone here since I was a kid. They helped me get a start in the BMX industry back in 2005. Hell yeah!” – Matt Bischoff

DK’s pint sized shredder Ben Kavanagh was able to enjoy some time at Woodward East and Justen Soule was on hand to catch it all. out of the whole edit it might sound odd that this is my highlight, but check out the way he comes out of the double peg at 0:58. Style!

If there’s one thing that I know, it’s that if there is one guy who deserves every good thing that happens to him, it is Brian Kachinsky. After what seemed like a rough patch for Brian that we will call “2013” that involved losing sponsors, having new deals fall through, moving The Bakery to a new location and then being forced to rip it all out two months later, injuries and more. It would appear that things are finally starting to look better with the start of the new year for him. It was just announced yesterday that Brian had been added to the Vans team and this news couldn’t get any better. We figured it would be a good time to get ahold of him and catch up to find out what else is new. Let’s see what he had to say!
