Here’s a quick video of Shane Weston talking about his long awaited signature Blind hub from Eclat that’s out now… And while we’re at it since the video from the other day kicked so much ass…
Éclat ‘Blind Hub’ Promo Feat. Shane Weston from WeMakeThings on Vimeo.
The long awaited, highly anticipated, almost eliminated Shane Weston signature Blind hub from Eclat is finally here… This hub, almost a holy grail of sorts, has been in the works for a number of years now and has seen a lot of ups and downs, countless design changes and hours on top of hours of testing to ensure it was done right, is finally available. This hub is capable of converting from left and right side drive along with from a freecoaster to a cassette, essentially making it 4 hubs in one. Check out Shane Weston putting it through its paces, stacking some incredible clips along the way. You can find out more about the hub right here.
“To travel backwards on a BMX without pedaling is nothing new, it’s something that was active very early on in the boom of BMX street riding. The potential of riding with a free coaster though has evolved drastically with time and now we’re at a pretty exciting point where going backwards seems almost like going forwards.
Shane Weston was always influenced by riders before him that forged the way for free coasting and has been on the free coaster game for some time now, mixing complex hop variations with jump box tricks to create this original and mind blowing style, a true pleasure to watch. After a long time in testing and development we are happy to announce the Shane Weston Signature Free Coaster hub from Éclat ‘The Blind’. Unlike other free coasters out there this one is designed for the modern street rider that can be flipped from RSD to LSD and even switched back to a coaster. It’s pretty much the only hub you’ll ever need.”

Here’s a look at Stevie Churchill’s new signature Stevie fork from Eclat. This fork is made from seamless 4130 chromoly that gets a full-liquid post-weld heat-treatment. The fork also features a fully CNC machined steerer tube, butted legs with plenty of tire clearance for 2.40″ tires and investment cast drop outs for strength. The Stevie fork will be available next month in colors black, chrome and translucent green, a 26mm or 32mm offset and a weight of 36.26 oz.

We’ve been seeing this tire popping up for a while now and it has been available in most countries for a few weeks now, but it looks like it’s finally out here in the U.S and in the U.K! Stevie Churchill’s signature Fireball tire from Eclat features a smooth design with knurling all around for plenty of grip without adding much rolling resistance out on the streets. This tire features an 80 thead per inch contraction with a wire bead, 100 PSI rating and a puncture resistant nylon layer on the center tread and sides to help resist blow outs. This tire is available in black, gum with a black sidewall and red with a black sidewall, sizes of 2.30″ and 2.40″ and a weight of 25.9 oz. (2.30″) or 29.1 oz. (2.40″). Check out more photos and info on the tire right here.
