Here’s some news that some of you might have figured out already. Devon Smillie is no longer riding for Eclat. We’re not sure what happened or when, but Devon’s no longer riding their parts and isn’t listed on the Eclat website anymore. What we do know is Devon has decided to go all in on riding for Flybikes where he already has his signature Fuego line with a frame, bars, seat, grips and tires. Above is a look at his new setup which is 100% Flybikes from top to bottom, including the new Magneto cassette hub. This also includes a sneak peek look at his new frame colorway for 2021 that’ll be out in a few months as well!

Eclat BMX – Centric Pedals

July 21, 2020

Check out the new Centric Pedals from Eclat…

The crew over at Eclat have released their new Centric Pedals for you to get your feet on. These pedals are made from injection molded nylon and fiberglass with a larger platform that removes the traditional 15mm pedal wrench slot between the pedal body and your crank arms, moving the pedals in closer while giving you a little more wiggle room. The body has a concave shape and plenty of reinforced molded pins for grip. Since there is no slot for a pedal wrench, the pedals are tightened with a 6mm allen key through the crank arm on the chromoly spindle, eliminating the need for a pedal wrench. Inside you can find loose ball bearings keeping the pedals spinning. The Centric pedals are available in Black only with a weight of 14.6 oz. (415 grams) through BMX shops and mail-orders that carry Eclat worldwide now.

Eclat – Sam Chamberlain Dura Peg Promo

May 25, 2020

In a world of plastic pegs, there are still riders out there that prefer a metal peg. Eclat just dropped this new promo featuring Sam Chamberlain putting their new Dura Peg to work out in the streets from grinds to chings on curbs, ledges, pole jams and more. Sam puts these to good use, making for a real solid watch. Chec it!

“The ever creative Sam Chamberlain comes through with a promo showing what our new heavy-duty DURA Pegs were designed for.

A modern-day street peg with everything you need, and nothing that you don’t. The DURA Peg was designed to meet the demands of our team riders that like to put their pegs to war in the streets. Made 4130 heat treated Chromoly, the DURA peg features a thicker 3.5mm end and a longer 4.6″ length to give you plenty of peg to grind on during crooked grinds and hard spins. Simple CNC weight savings on the base save a few grams and a super slick ED coating keeps you sliding right out of the box. a peg might be a simple item but we put a lot of thought into this one and we could not be more stoked on our new street peg.” – Eclat

Sean Burns For Eclat

April 27, 2020

It’s not every day that we get a brand new Sean Burns video, but when one pops up, you know it’s going to be an absolute BANGER. Here’s his latest for Eclat that was filmed over the course of 2 years with Sean’s signature madman style of crazy gaps, roof drops and more that lead to getting hit by cars, a broken hand, sprained ankles, getting arrested, and breaking his spine. As expected, this is absolute madness that you’ll want to watch over and over again. Hit play and take in this MUST SEE!

Also, as many of you know, Sean had a serious crash that broke his back and required emergency surgery ( Sean Burns Spinal Surgery / Rehab Fund ). The other day he posted on Instagram showing he’s back on his feet and making some serious progress. Amazing considering there was a chance he wouldn’t walk again. Beyond stoked about that. Check out the Instagram post down below after you watch the video!

Don’t forget. If you can, check out Sean’s GoFundMe page for updates and to make a donation. We know things are tight for everyone right now, but anything helps. Even just sharing the link can do a ton!

“BURNS! Filmed over the past two years, ECLAT PRO and BMX street legend Sean Burns comes through with a banger filled video part of leather-clad roof drops, high-speed gaps, and full-throttle madness. Sean, unfortunately, was injured during the process of filming this video, and although he’s made a remarkable recovery and is making extreme progress, he still needs our help with his medical bills and rehab support. A link to his go-fund me can be found here. All the love and support you can give Sean would be greatly appreciated. Burns truly is a man of steel and we cant wait to see him back on the steed and eyeing up the next deadman roof gap in the near future…

Eclat – E440 Rim

March 20, 2020

Get a look at the new E440 Rim from Eclat!

Eclat BMX E440 Rim

When it comes to BMX rims, they’re one of those parts that have become so dialed in over the years by brands that it’s the finer details that really make the biggest difference. The crew over at Eclat decided it was time to work on a new rim, and challenged themselves to make a rim that was light weight, but still strong enough to hold up to what their pro team is throwing down in the streets. The new E440 Rim is the end result, and it was exactly what they had in mind. The E440 rim is made from 6061-T6 alloy that is flash welded for a strong joint. It features a super stiff profile with thick sidewalls that are taller for rigidity and straight for brakes. On the inside, you can find a double wall design that puts material where the rim takes the most abuse, and cuts back in places it doesn’t to help reduce the overall rotational weight. They’ve also gone with a “narrower” 34mm width versus the 36mm that Eclat have been using on their other rims, which helps cut down on material and weight as well.

Eclat cooked up this short but sweet promo video featuring Devon Smillie putting the Onyx Cranks to good use. This promo is only 39 seconds, but you already know the riding Devon delivers is top notch, so hit play and enjoy! Check out more details on the Onyx cranks right here!

“The Onyx crank is the crank of choice for Eclat PRO Devon Smillie. Easily the finest and the most innovative 3pc Chromoly cranks to date, the Onyx cranks use an oversize super-hollow 24mm spindle, and a dependable 3pc design with a super-strong invest cast spindle and pedal boss, these cranks are designed to take the strain, stress and power of today’s most fierce riders.

Sneak Peek: Eclat Tubeless Tire / Rim

March 5, 2020

Eclat BMX Tubeless Tire Sneak Peek

Here’s a little sneak peek we caught while scrolling through Instagram. Dave Patterson over at Eclat dropped a look at what Eclat is working on that has a few interesting things packed into it. First is the obvious, the tire says Tubeless which is interesting to see since we’ve seen tubeless tires / rims done on MTB and everything, but it has never really worked for BMX. There have been attempts in the past, but it never caught on. However, they may have found a way to make it work. The valve stem with the lock ring would hold the valve stem in place and keep everything sealed up, but we’re not sure what is going on in the inside.

Next is the rim, which we’re not sure if it’s modified to make tubeless tires work or if it’s all in the tire, but that could be interesting. Then there’s also the camouflage color that looks real interesting as well. Obviously that one would be for the brakeless guys out there, but we could see that one selling pretty well, actually.

We don’t know much for what’s going on exactly, but if Dave is leaking this one online, it’s safe to say that it has to be close to being released.

Or, this could be some early April Fools prank that came a month early… Talk about a curveball thought!

What do you think about this? Would you be interested in trying out tubeless tires or are you okay with sticking with the classic tube style? Do you have any ideas on what’s going on? Any questions? Let us know what’s on your mind in the comments down below!
