Chase Hawk is throwing a jam at House Park in August with the help of Empire BMX and The Boardr! Check out the full details below, but this sounds like it’s going to be a damn good time!
“Empire BMX, in conjunction with Florida-based action sports organizer The Boardr, is proud to present ‘Born and Raised,’ a two-day BMX event scheduled for August 14-15 in Austin, Texas in association with the celebration of Chase Hawk Day in August.
2014 X Games BMX Park gold medalist and Austin native Chase Hawk felt the need to give back to the community that fostered his BMX skills, and decided to throw a fun and pressure-free BMX jam at Austin’s House Park to commemorate the second arrival of Austin’s “Chase Hawk Day.”
“What better way to give back to the rising generation of BMX riders in Austin than by doing an amateur contest here,” said Hawk, who partnered with Austin’s Empire BMX shop on the venture.
“We have joined forces with Chase’s sponsors (Cult, Etnies, Oakley, and Odyssey) and The Boardr for this event, and couldn’t be more proud of Chase for making it happen. This is a great thing for the BMX community, locally and beyond, and we look forward to seeing it evolve in the future,” says Empire BMX.

I’m not really sure when the first time I saw a video featuring Kent Pearson. Needless to say that the guy has been killing it on a BMX bike long before I even started riding and continues to do so today like a champ. I’ve definitely been a fan of his riding for quite some time now thanks to his creative front brake riding that always leaves me stoked and wanting more, it’s easy to say he’s one guy I always look forward to seeing something new from.
Recently when his latest edit dropped, it got me thinking that it would be awesome to get ahold of this guy and find out just what he’s all about. One thing lead to another and we got in contact and I quickly learned he’s a whole lot more than just a guy who knows the ways of the front brake magic game. I shot him a bunch of questions to get to know him, and here we are today! If this doesn’t get you excited about front brakes or at the very least really stoked on Kent, something is wrong with you!
