Varo Hernandez On Flybikes

October 20, 2021

Varo Hernandez Flybikes BMX

Here’s a little sponsor news for you. Flybikes have added Varo Hernandez to their line up over in Spain. Check out a few words about the news below, along with a look at his new setup. This is an interesting one since Flybikes haven’t had any flatland specific products for some time. Maybe they’re planning to bring back some of their old Suelo products in the future? That would be pretty interesting to see. Either way, it looks like they’ve added another dialed rider to the team.

“Varo Hernandez is an awesome human! He is a Madrid local, where since the 80’s there has always been a great flatlander scene with a magic level and very good vibes. Varo’s good friends with Sergio, Courage, and Tere. It’s common to see them together riding around Madrid. For that reason, Varo joining the Flybikes Family seemed like a natural fit, so… WELCOME TO THE FLY FAMILY!!” – Flybikes

Flybikes – Devon Smillie 2020

February 26, 2021

We’re getting a double whammy from Devon Smillie today! Earlier we poste up his new USL BMX Dice video, now we get a 5 minute banger packed with clips he filmed over the course of 2020 around southern California for Flybikes! No traveling or contests, but it looks like Devon still made the most of it, stacking a ton of heavy clips for this! You already know this one is a must see!

“2020 was a year that nobody expected to turn out the way it did. The pandemic changed up everyone’s world, some more than others. Instead of traveling the world, riding in contests and filming at crazy spots in cities all over like normal, Devon Smillie stayed home in California. Despite all the negatives, there was a silver lining; schools were closed, normally busy and unrideable spots were cleared out and the sessions with the locals were still happening! 2020 was less than ideal, but Devon managed to make the most of it and stack a ton of fire clips staying close to home! Enjoy!

Flybikes – Flat Raw Savanna Frame

November 21, 2020

Check out the new Courage Adams signature Flat Raw Savanna 2 frame!

Flybikes Flat Raw Savanna 2 Frame Courage Adams

With the way this year has been, it’s no surprise that we’ve seen a pretty sporadic release in products this year from brands. There’s been crazy supply issues, delays with manufacturers, shipping container shortages and overloaded delivery services. But, it’s made it so new products are a little more unexpected.

Flybikes have begun releasing some of their new 2021 products, and it looks like Courage Adams signature Savanna 2 frame from Flybikes has been released in this new Flat Raw color! The Savanna 2 frame is made from full 4130 Japanese seamless chromoly tubing with a 75.5-degree head tube angle, 71-degree seat tube angle, 11.75″ bottom bracket height, 9.25″ standover height and a 13″ chainstay length. They’ve gone with new tubing specs to help reduce the weight without sacrificing strength, a CNC machined 4.45″ (113mm) tall Integrated headtube, laser cut top and downtube gussets internally and externally (double gussets), multi-butted and tapered tubing, an Investment Cast seatpost clamp, Mid bottom bracket, laser cut seat and chainstay bridges and Investment Cast dropouts with integrated chain tensioners. You can find heat-treating on this frame as well. Also note that the Savanna frame is brakeless, so there are no mounts or guides.

The Savanna 2 frame is available in 20.2″, 20.6″ and 21″ top tube lengths with Flat Raw, Gloss Black and Metallic White for color options and a weight of 5.3 lbs. The frame is available for $370.00 through BMX shops and mail-orders that carry Flybikes worldwide and online, or direct from the Flybikes Website.

We’re not sure what happened or when, but Devon’s no longer riding their parts and isn’t listed on the Eclat website anymore. What we do know is Devon has decided to go all in on riding for Flybikes where he already has his signature Fuego line with a frame, bars, seat, grips and tires. Above is a look at his new setup which is 100% Flybikes from top to bottom, including the new Magneto cassette hub. This also includes a sneak peek look at his new frame colorway for 2021 that’ll be out in a few months as well!

Flybikes – Sem Kok “Encore”

October 29, 2020

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QIF_I5tDsYA

We’re always stoked to check out some fresh Sem Kok footage! Here’s a short but sweet one from Flybikes featuring Sem getting some laps in at the Dirt E19 trails! No music, just the sweet sounds of the new Flybikes Magneto hub and Ruben tires! Needless to say, Sem brings the style and we’re really digging the film work on this one. Take a look!

“One of the best things is just being out in the woods flowing through a set of dialed trails. No scooters to cut you off midline, no security to kick you out. Just the sound of your tires and cassette, and plenty of fun. Here’s a new one featuring Sem Kok getting some time in at the Dirt E19 trails with the sound of our new Magneto hubs buzzing along. As always, Sem brings the style making for a great watch! Enjoy!
