Sullyvan Guaincetre On GT Bicycles

April 18, 2018

Sullyvan Guanincetre is now doing it for GT Bicycles in France through Frenchys Distribution! Here’s the official word direct from GT, Frenchys, Ben Ward and Sullyvan!

Sullyvan’s welcome to GT video!
Filmed and edited by Romain Fel

“Sullyvan Guaincêtre got himself a name in 2015 during the SOSH Urban Motion when he placed 2nd in the competition against riders like Maxime Charveron, Dennis Enarson and Simone Baracco. Since then he’s confirmed his talent and is now considered as one of the best BMX Street Riders in Europe.

Sully has been riding for Frenchys-Distribution since 2015, has been riding French contests for 3 years and is now renowned for his tech riding style. His personality and riding got the attention of GT Bicycles. The US Brand has been focusing again on BMX Street riding for a few seasons now and is very involved with a team of key riders like Brian Kachinsky, Dan Conway, Rob Wise, Albert Mercado…” – GT Bicycles

“We met Sully on the GT Euro Tour while in Paris. He stood out to me amongst all the
incredibly talented locals. He wasn’t just good on the bike, but his approach to the session
along with his style made me an instant fan. When the opportunity to add him to the crew
presented itself, it was an easy yes from myself and the rest of the team. Can’t wait to get
him out with the squad!

“Frenchys Distribution is the European BMX distributor for GT Bicycles and has been distributing GT BMX for the past 10 years. Johan Poyet, Freestyle Team Manager at Frenchys Distribution, is stoked on Sully’s move to GT Bicycles”

“Sully fits greatly with GT BMX: a tech riding and a maximum of fun. He takes his riding seriously but keeps a huge part for the fun part which matches very well with GT philosophyFun is serious business. Sully surprised everybody with his edit during Sosh Urban Motion 4. He now lives in Montpellier and his riding keeps on evolving. It is always a great pleasure to witness his creativity expressed through his tech and original lines.” – Johan Poyet

“GT Bicycles is such an iconic Brand, it is an honor to ride for them. I love the Globetrotter frame which suits my riding very well and is super easy to ride. I am also very happy with GT’s positioning to push for the promotion of helmet safety to the younger riders, which is totally aligned with my position on that topic these days! Added to that a great team of great riders, I am pretty stoked to be part of GT Bicycles!” – Sullyvan Guanincetre

Bike Swap – GT’s Albert Mercado and Leandro Moreira

March 6, 2018

What happens when you take two different riders and make them trade bikes? Here’s what happened to GT’s Albert Mercado and Leandro Moreira…

When it comes to riding BMX, there’s no bike like your own. Every rider has different preferences from sizes to angles, brakes vs brakeless, bar height, seat height, tire pressure, pegs, no pegs, front load versus top load stems, etc, etc, etc. It’s rare to find two identical bikes. With that being said, every bike rides a little different and adjusting to it can be tricky. During a recent GT BMX trip, Albert Mercado and Leandro Moreira swapped bikes. Not only are both these riders styles completely different, but their setups are night and day. Here’s a look at what they were able to throw down on each others bikes after a little time to get used to it.

“It’s crazy how different someone else’s can bike feel even with subtle differences in geometry—let alone an entirely different setup style. GT’s Albert Mercado and Leandro Moreira have polar opposite bike setups—Albert with four-pegs, no brakes and a coaster and Leandro with no pegs, brakes, and a cassette. They switched bikes for an hour and the results were pretty entertaining.

Jordan Grandinetti is back and crushing it for GT BMX!

After some downtime while joining the knee club, Jordan Grandinetti is back to crushing it on his bike for GT Bicycles! Here’s his first full edit back filled with rail and ledge destruction on a ton of different spots. Although he had some time off, it doesn’t look like he lost his touch one bit.

“After a brief hiatus due to knee surgery, Jordan Grandinetti has been steadily stacking footage. With a few solid clips in the GT Bikes full-length, Seriously Fun movie, Jordy G is back to his old form and has blessed us with a part full of bangers. It looks like “The 17 Year Old Handrail Machine” is still slaying at 19.

January 24, 2018

Take a closer look at Tristen Cooper’s current GT Fueler setup!

Here’s a fresh video Bike Check with GT Bicycles‘ flow rider, Tristen Cooper and his current Fueler setup that he’s rolling around on these days! Hit play to let Tristen give you a run through of the setup, plus a few riding clips to show you how he gets down on the bike!

“Tristen Cooper is a product of that special water that must come out of the tap in the Salt Lake City area. He has a full throttle approach to everything he rides—be it dirt, park, or street. Tristen is ready to send it and his machine needs to be ready for anything. Tristen was the perfect test pilot for GT’s new Fueler frame, and he put his prototype through its paces and it held up to his beating. Tristen just put a production Fueler frame together and decked it out with some of the new parts we just released. New year, new bike!” – GT Bicycles

Battle Clip – Dan Conway VS The Kinker

January 11, 2018

Watch as Dan Conway battles it out with a kinked rail for the GT “Seriously Fun” DVD…

Anyone that knows Dan Conway knows that he’s a beast and that he’s not about to let a rail get the best of him. While filming for the GT “Seriously Fun” DVD (that is now online), he had to battle it out with this kinked rail that wasn’t about to let him walk away with an easy clip. Hit play to watch Dan take a heavy beating, but get back up over and over to make sure the rail didn’t win.

“We pulled up to this school somewhere in Connecticut while on a summer-time GT trip though the East Coast. Dan eyed up the rail for a short time before announcing that he wanted to crook to ice the second stage. What followed was quite the battle as the rail is steep and obviously kinky. After a digger or two it felt like Dan had figured things out and was set to pull it next go, but not after more shitty crashes. Conway put himself through so much that I started to wonder if we’d be walking away clipless… but Dan is a warrior and put in the work it took to get it done. So Savage. This clip was originally featured in Dan’s belter of an ender section in GT’s “Seriously Fun” DVD which you can watch here.” – Ride BMX

GT Bicycles “Seriously Fun” – FULL VIDEO

January 2, 2018

GT Bicycles have released their entire “Seriously Fun” DVD online for your viewing pleasure!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_H4UyPLGMA8

A little while back each of the sections from the GT Bicycles “Seriously Fun” DVD was released online, now today we get the full DVD all in one place for your viewing pleasure! Hit that play button and take in all 21 minutes of this gem. It’s an amazing watch from start to finish!

“In early 2015, GT took to the streets of Los Angeles and Kansas City to uncover a plethora of untapped spots across these two vastly different cities. With Ben Ward, GT BMX product and team manager at the helm, the brand released two successful shorter web videos – GT in LA and Bleeding Kansas – to kick off the beginning of a new era for GT BMX.

“GT in LA and Bleeding Kansas were incredible for the brand and showed the industry what we could do as individuals and as a team. We wanted to make sure what we did next topped them,” said Ward. “After seeing both edits, the new guys on the team were eager to start working on something original; that’s when the idea of a full-length video was proposed. The crew was fired up, and they started filming and stacking their own clips.

“Then, at the end of 2016, we reviewed their footage, jampacked with newly discovered spots and never-before-seen tricks; we knew we had something great in the making, and we began to see Seriously Fun emerge.”

Seriously Fun captures GT’s good times energy capitalizing on GT’s athletes’ signature riding styles and personalities. In Seriously Fun, viewers will see how seriously the team takes their fun from coast to coast in the US to Brazil, France, Germany, the UK, Taiwan, and more.

“It’s been a long time since GT has produced a full-length video and DVD. I can’t think of a better way to pay respect to our athletes who share the same passion for BMX. Seriously Fun reflects each personality through their approach to riding and filming,” added Ward.

When looking for partners to produce the video, Ride BMX was the obvious choice. GT has been an advertising partner with the magazine for two-and-a-half years, and most of the outlet’s editorial and video staff have been instrumental in many of GT’s recent online releases.

In addition, GT selected BMX industry videographer and editor Andrew Brady to bring Seriously Fun to life. It was Brady’s overall passion and excitement for the project which made him the main man for the job.

If you’re looking for some damn good riding, you’re in the right place! GT Bicycles just released Dan Conway‘s section from the “Seriously fun” DVD online for your viewing pleasure. As many of you know, Dan is an absolute BEAST on a bike and is no stranger to putting his pegs to HEAVY use on every rail and ledge he comes across. In this case, he was able to go to work in multiple countries and it’s safe to say he had no problems stacking clips, because this part is packed with bangers. After Dan’s section, you get the credits section filled with b-roll, randoms, crashes and more. Hit play and enjoy!

“Dan Conway goes all in for his ender section in GT’s “Seriously Fun”. Dan took some diggers while filming this section, but all those big rails, kinkers, hubbas, and ledge/rails stand no match for this savage.” – Ride BMX
