Red Bull – Behind The Scenes: Simone Barraco’s 8mm Project
This is great. Take a behind the scenes look at what really went into making Simone Barraco’s new 8MM PROJECT VIDEO! Hadrien Picard talks about the camera he used and how the whole video was filmed in order of how it was shown and how they get the film edited. Great stuff. Watch that, then go RE-WATCH THE FULL VIDEO HERE!
“Simone Barraco’s 8mm edit with Hadrien Picard has been received with great acclaim since its release last week. The clip, with its 1970s-style retro feel, was filmed on an Super 8 film camera.
The shoot presented Hadrien with many a challenge. Filming the edit with a 40-year-old analogue camera and one roll of 8mm film meant that he had to shoot the clip in a very specific way that put pressure on both the filmmaker and rider during filming.
Hadrien had to film all the scenes in the right order and Simone had to pull off any tricks on the first try because the film could not be cut or edited in case of errors, like it can be with a modern digital camera.
Hadrien actually filmed the project twice, with two Super8 Braun Nizo 801s. Both films were then developed and the more fluent and cleaner film was chosen as the final edit.”
Red Bull – Simone Barraco’s 8mm Project
Simone and Hadrien have done it again! Check out this brand new video they put together from some time they spent in Barcelona recently. This one is all filmed on an 8mm film camera giving is a classic look that just looks so good still. Hit that play button to enjoy it!
“Italy’s Simone Barraco and French filmmaker Hadrien Picard joined forces in March to film a very special edit out in Barcelona.
Hadrien had the idea of filming a BMX video on a 40-year-old Super 8 film camera to produce something that feels and looks different to the multitude of clips that are put out today.
Filming on one roll of 8mm film without any editing or cuts meant there was little room to manoeuvre for Simone or Hadrien out on the shoot. The resulting gorgeous edit is well worth their hard work.” – Red Bull
Nokia Pureviews – Athens with Jason Eustathiou
Here it is! The new Hadrien Picard video from Nokia Pureviews featuring Jason Eustathiou putting in work on the streets of Athens, Greece! Hit that play button and take in all the goodness!
“After the italian Simone Barraco, the icelandic Anton Arnarson, our world traveler director Hadrien Picard continues his european tour of the best bmx riders and lands in Athens to meet Jason Eustathiou, the greek phenomenon. Far from being a simple touristic visit, our host accumulated kilometers of riding like others multiplicate danse sessions. Jumping in (almost) total freedom from spot to spot, creating new movement while riding forward but also backward (!), the young and promising Athenian seems to take us for a Zeimbekiko, this traditionnal greek danse you will probably feel possessing you while listening to the music of this short and delightful movie.”
