Product: Kink – 2017 SXTN Complete

Every year when the next year models of complete BMX bikes start rolling out from brands, we’re completely blown away by how they are constantly evolving and getting better. Kink have recently released their full range of 2017 complete BMX Bikes giving us a look at just what they have been cooking up over in New York. One bike in particular that really caught our eye was the new Sean Sexton signature SXTN complete in it’s new matte Geometric Camouflage colorway.

The frame is made from 100% chromoly tubing and features a 21″ top tube length, 75-degree head tube angle, 71-degree seat tube angle, 8.75″ standover height, 11.75″ bottom bracket height and a 13.75″ chainstay length. The rest of the bike is decked out from top to bottom with Kink and Mission parts making for one dialed bike.

The Kink Phone Is Back

Now that the Kink team are out in San Diego at the Kink House II, they’ve decided to re-activate the old phone and let you guys hit them up with texts and calls. It sounds like they will have Tony Hamlin answering the calls and texts, so expect to get some hilarious answers and probably a few that will offend you. Albert Mercado Off Kink

Well… Here’s an announcement we don’t think anyone saw coming. Albert Mercado has decided to step away from the Kink Pro team on Instagram. Below is his statement about the decision. We’re not sure if he has a new sponsor lined up or if it was just time to pursue some new opportunities outside of BMX. We are sure we’ll still see fresh Albert footage in the future regardless.

“After almost a decade of riding for @kinkbikes the time has come for us to part ways. It’s been an amazing time riding, traveling, and hanging out with people that have become some of my lifelong friends. Unforgettable memories and friendships that can’t be rattled by life’s struggles is what I’m most grateful for. Shout out to everyone at Kink that made these years of good times possible. Kink BMX – 2017 Complete Bikes Catalog

The Kink crew are always on the ball and it seems like always first to release their next years models of complete bikes. Today, they released their new catalog giving you a full look at their entire range of 2017 complete bikes from their 12″ Coast on up through to their Tony Hamlin, Sean Sexton and Connor Lodes signature complete bikes. You can take a look at the full range by hitting the catalog above. It looks like Kink have once again stepped things up with their full range of bikes and they look damn good.

“Each year we go into designing our bikes with one objective in mind, and that is simply to build the best BMX bikes possible. All the aspects that go into that one objective on the other hand, are not quite so simple. Designing new components, refining product features, updating geometry, gathering dealer and rider input, doing color trend research and improving manufacturing techniques, are just some of those aspects. Product: Kink – Smut Seat

With the release of the Kink 2016 frames and parts (Check out the 2016 Parts Collection Catalog), we figured it would be a good time to get the details on their new Smut Stealth seat we caught a sneak peek look at a few weeks back. The Smut seat features a sublimated print that features cartoon dirty magazines printed on a heavy duty canvas material, with extra thick foam padding and Kink’s Stealth system for easy installation with a 5mm allen key. The Smut seat weighs in at 11.8 oz. and is hitting BMX shops and mail-orders now!

Battles: Dan Coller VS The Roof

To say that Dan Coller went all in for his section for the Kink “Intervention” video would be an understatemnt. Dan absolutely crushed it! Above is a look at the battle he had with the gnarly grind he did off a roof. You didn’t think he pulled that first go, did you? Turns out it took more than one trip, too. Welcome to Episode 2 of our DIG Battles series. This time round we get a closer look at Dan Coller vs the Roof in Kink Intervention. Here’s what filmer Darryl Tocco had to say…

“Dan Coller flipped a switch a few years ago. Instead of pursuing what has now become the norm of outrageously technical riding, suddenly it seemed he was only interested in the scary stuff. Huge rails, grinds to flat, and now apparently, roof setups. In 2013 Dan was working on a welcome to KINK pro video, and this setup sent him packing. Dan quit while he was ahead on this round, and decided to walk away. 2 and a half years later while we were filming for Intervention, Dan decided that it was time to put this one to bed. Not long after we arrived and a few frustrating attempts later, we found ourselves drinking tall cans and laughing at the roof. Cheers, Dan.” – Darryl Tocco
