The latest BMX Videos, Products and News!
Remember Olscool BMX that Hal Brindley and Leigh Ramsdell launched last year? Well, the limited runs of those iconic t-shirts that they revived are running short and they will be closing shop once all of the shirts are gone! If you’re trying to get your hands on any of the shirts, now is the time because they’re all on sale now! Check out what they still have RIGHT HERE!
“The end is near. Last year Leigh and I decided to launch a kickstarter project to print some limited edition reproductions of classic 90’s BMX tee shirt designs from 2B Homecooked Garments, PLAY Clothes, and Useless. You, the supporters, voted for the favorite shirts. Silly videos were made, tee shirts were printed, and fun was had by all. We even threw a couple classic hats into the mix along with bowling shirts, flannels and sweat shirts. But all good things must come to an end.
Now it’s time to close the vaults for good (or maybe until another 20 years has passed). The very last of the Oldscool BMX reproductions are now available for sale on our Etsy shop. Various sizes are disappearing quickly so check the availability chart on the front page of the Oldscool BMX website and then head over to our store and get yours before they’re all gone.
Ready to own your piece of history? See what’s left at the Oldscool BMX shop now.”
Holy crap did this past week fly by… I don’t know if it’s just because we’re in the middle of the summer and everyone is out filming or what, but we’ve had an insane number of videos popping up in the Daily Section lately. This week was a lot like the last few weeks where we ended up with too many videos to choose from. I’ve narrowed it down to 26 (Yes, twenty six) videos that you might have missed or want to see again that were all videos you definitely want to check out! We’ve got videos featuring the likes of Steven Hamilton, Brett Banasiewicz, Marnold, Christian Rigal, Will Herrmann, Will Gunn, Stevie Churchill, Justin Burns, Mike Saavedra, Dillon Lloyd, Dylan Sparkman, Derek Nelson, Kris Fox, Mark Mulville, Demarcus Paul, Neil Hise, Zack Gerber, Glenn Salyers, Simone Barraco, Leigh Ramsdell, Todd Meyn, Jeff Dowhen, Matt Leviege, JC Pieri and many, many more to check out so let’s get into it!
Eastern Bikes: Leigh Ramsdell Farewell Video from Leigh Ramsdell on Vimeo.
Even with all of the shake ups at Eastern lately, I never once considered that Leigh Ramsdell would be leaving. Leigh has been the corner stone of Eastern’s program for a long time and the fact that he is moving on is a huge deal. Enjoy his farewell edit and read Eastern’s statement below:
“Leigh Ramsdell and Eastern Bikes are parting ways. Both parties are on the same page and friendships remain intact. Leigh has been with Eastern Bikes since 2000 and has had two signature frames, The Ace of Spades and The Night Prowler as will as signature complete bikes, The Ace of Spades and The Ramrodder. He made the transition from Professional rider to Team Manager then finally Media Coordinator. We are sad to see him go, and wish him the best of luck and what ever wacky adventures he gets into. And when we see a wishbone or an archway we will think of his bowed legs. Thanks Leigh! Here is a video from select footage over the years at Eastern. And of course it has to be to Motorhead.”
Here’s a flashback worth checking out. Eastern remixed their footage from Props Mega Tour 9 into this edit that’s loaded with heat. Take a look!
“Back in 2009 Eastern Bikes went on Props Mega-Tour 9. The riders were Adam Banton, Eric Holley, Phil Jones, Karl Poynter and Leigh Ramsdell. They traveled from Chicago to Minneapolis hitting various cities along the way. Props Visual sent the raw footage to each team to make their own version of the trip. Here is the Eastern team from Mega-tour 9.

This is awesome. Leigh Ramsdell and Hal Brindley met their extended goal on their Kickstarter page to get things rolling with Oldscool so they were able to drop this video with the good ending instead of that bad ending where they fail miserably and all hell breaks loose… Actually, I don’t know how it ends, but either way. They’re finally ready to start pumping out some classic shirts. Below are the top 10 and it sounds like that is just the beginning. Get stoked.
1) Toboggan (Play)
2) Drunk on a Bike (Useless)
3) For Men With 20 Inchers aka Hardcore (2B)
4) Turndown (Play)
5) New Toboggan (Play)
6) Convoy (2B)
7) Angst (2B)
8) Binky & Scamper (Play)
9) Hell on Wheels (Play)
10) Fork (2B)
“Leigh and I just wanted to make a silly video for our kickstarter project and things got a little out of control. This is the result. We produced two different endings based on whether or not we achieved our stretch goal of $6,066. Amazingly, we reached it on the final day and were able to release the film with the “excellent” ending. Here it is!
Produced by Hal Brindley and Leigh Ramsdell with special appearances by Steve Crandall and Scamper.”
Haha this is awesome as hell. Hal Brindley and Leigh Ramsdell pulled out the camera and pulled off a hell of a parody for Oldscool to push the last week of their Kickstarter page. Check out the trailer then hit that link to check out the full video to find out just what happens next. EXCELLENT.
“Watch the full movie here: http://kck.st/13hv6GT
More proof that you shouldn’t let Leigh and Hal near the video camera.
The full film is showing for one week at our kickstarter project (http://kck.st/13hv6GT) until Thursday March 28, 2013. How it ends is up to you.”
