Truing A BMX Wheel with Evan At Lux BMX

Anyone who has rode BMX for more than a few days knows that it’s not if, but when your wheels will need a proper truing to keep them in line and rolling smooth. Lux BMX put together giving you some tips and advice on how to true your wheels when they could use some TLC. This is more focused on the general maintenance of keeping the spokes snug and the wheel straight without hops with tips on tightening and loosening spokes to get it just perfect. This is great advice and can save you loads of money in the long run by being able to do this yourself versus having to run to the shop every time your wheels get beat up.

If you follow Boyd Hilder, you would know he’s been off his bike recovering from knee surgery and working on getting back to riding shape. Lux BMX caught up with Boyd to talk about his injury, working on his Odyssey “Locked Down Unda” video, answering some questions from the fans on Instagram an more. Hit play and see what’s up with Boyd!

“Boyd Hilder is a name to be reckoned with in the BMX world and the past few years have really shown us that. From winning a NORA cup to having his own signature frame with Federal, Boyd has been doing all the right things to cement his name in the BMX history books.
His newest video project put together by notorious Brisbane BMX filmer and Lux team legend Troy Charlesworth made waves around the world and for good reason. From big street moves to tech park lines, Boyd has all bases covered!
Late last year Boyd had a crash at Kuraby skatepark in Brisbane that did some damage to his knee and has put him on the couch for some time. Boyd isn’t one to sit still and has been doing the most for his recovery and keeping himself busy. From gardening to Netflix Boyd has been recovering and putting the work in to get back on his bike as soon and as strong as possible.
I recently went and caught up with Boyd to see what he had been up to, his day today and what’s on in his near future. He answers some of your questions and hints to another jam he wants to put on early this year! You don’t want to miss this!

These days working in a shop has been extremely hectic with sales through the roof and non-stop customers and orders coming through. The Lux BMX crew down in Australia have been crushing it, but that hasn’t stopped them from catching some sessions! Here’s one from an after work session that Brock Olive, Sean Gardner, Tim Storey, Liam Bordon and Mitch Wood got in once they clocked out for the day! Solid riding on a fun looking park setup.
