This years Monster Recon Tour is under way and their first stop was Ramp Riders in St. Louis! Check out some highlights from the day in this video! Looks like things kicked off with some damn good riding!
“Jimmy Smith takes the first open division win at the Monster Army Recon Tour presented by Replay XD. The event was held at the iconic Ramp Riders Park in St. Louis, MO where the BMX roots date back to the early 2000’s. It took place this past Saturday on April 26, 2014 and set the stage for the 1st stop of the Recon Tour. The Recon Tour’s mission is to support amateur athletes by hosting events that will give the competitors a chance to win an entry into pro events. This is a big step for the BMX community because the only way to earn an invite into big cash pro events is through a voting or ballet system, which usually turns into a popularity contest. We exist to support the next generation of athletes and help them advance to the professional level.
Special thanks to the Hookit brand partners: Monster Army, Replay XD, Hyper Bike co. Movietickets.com, Pro-Tec, Sunringle, Deft Family, ODI, Snafu, Fugoo, Vans, Vital BMX. Also thanks to Ryan Guettler, Kris Fox, Dylan Pfohl, Chad from Ramp Riders, John Haase, and everyone who made this event possible.

Wow… Do yourself a favor and hit play! Nathan Williams absolutely crushing it for Monster!

Just spotted this over on Flat Matters… It would appear the pot has DOUBLED and they will be also paying out $43,000 for the park riders as well. This one should draw some heavy attention since this contest is open to anyone who can make it out and register before they book it out. If you’re looking to get down to Trinidad and Tobago, this is the perfect excuse.

Here’s some awesome news I spotted over on Flat Matters. Trevlon Hall has partnered up with Monster and Trinidad Government & Tourism to throw a flatland contest with $43,000.00 up for prize money! This will definitely get a lot of guys jumping on planes to head to this one. Check out full details on TrevlonHallExams.com.
It looks as if Cam White is the latest to get hit by the great depression of cutbacks that BMX is going through. Go give the man a follow on Twitter where this news was found.
