Subrosa – Paul Gurvitz Interview

Did you like the song in Hoang Tran’s part from the Subrosa “Get Used To It” video? Turns out there is a crazy story behind the song and how they actually got to use it in the video! Check this video interview out where they catch up with Paul Gurvitz to talk about it! This is badass!

“Check out this different style edit from Subrosa. We got a chance to sit down with Paul Gurvitz from the band Gun and Three Man Army about what went into the remaking of the song “Race With the Devil” for our full-length video Get Used To It.

This was the first artist we approached in the process of getting clearance for all the music in the video, and it turned out to be a really cool story. Instead of simply just using the existing song, he re-recorded a version just for Hoang Tran’s G.U.T.I. section!

The Gun “Race With the Devil” made it to the Top 10 U.K. charts in 1969 and has been covered by tons of bands including Girl School and Judas Priest.

BMX has been doing some really rad collaborations over the years. There have been a handful of brands that have teamed up to work on projects and it has lead to some aesthetically pleasing limited edition products that are easy to be stoked on. Most recently, Fit Bike Co. and Etnies have teamed up with their shared team riders, Tom Dugan and Ben Lewis, to work on a special project that included complete bikes, shoes and a few different shirts. Here we go again! For the 4th year in a row, we’ve teamed up with Bluff Valley’s Over the Top Skatepark in Zumbro Falls, Minnesota for our annual BV Jam! Over the last 4 years we’ve seen the event grow each year and we ultimately decided to turn the event into a 2-day event this year just so we aren’t trying to find a way to cram everything into one day, feeling pressured or rushed to get through everything! So this year the event will take place SATURDAY, MARCH 8th (PEPSI PRO & EXPERT CLASSES) and SUNDAY, MARCH 9TH (BEGINNER & INTERMEDIATE CLASSES)!

This year, the local Pepsi distributor is backing us and we have over $1,500 in CASH to GIVEAWAY for the PEPSI PRO with a $1,000 FIRST PLACE prize up for grabs! We also have a huge list of sponsors that is still growing for prizes and giveaways throughout both days! Anyone who has ever been to one of the BV Jams knows you never leave empty handed! This is going to be the place to be!
