For the 97th round, we’ll take a closer look at The Shadow Conspiracy‘s Corvous rim, Profile Racing‘s Spline Drive sprocket, Sunday‘s EX Aaron Ross complete bike, Scott Ditchburn’s new signature Thunderbeast frame from Subrosa and then we’ll wrap it up with a look at the 4140 shirt from The Daily Grind. With the resulting sense of change, growth, and uncertainty, I felt the need to keep this project as personal and true to myself as possible. I couldn’t be happier with how everything took shape and I hope it’s as enjoyable to watch as it was to make. Filmed over the past fall and winter in North Carolina, Maryland, Texas, and Japan. Organizing and throwing an event can be stressful. There’s a lot of stuff you have to do to make sure everything is going to plan and everyone has a good time. I always try and contain my excitement, but today it’s a little tricky. I just organized the product we’ll be giving away on top of the $1,500 CASH (Pepsi Pro) at the 2014 BV JAM that is going down THIS WEEKEND (March 8th and 9th) at Bluff Valley Campground’s Over The Top Skatepark and literally had to swim through everything! We have tons of product from bars, to pedals, stems, tires, grips, hubs, to BOXES of shoes from Vans, along with t-shirts, hats, stickers and more! So if you’re in the area, get down to this because it’s ALL being GIVEN AWAY to the riders and people who come to check it out!

Threads? For a long time now, I’ve been wanting to start a feature with Bikeguide where I highlight a few of the latest threads that have opened up a bit of discussion. If you have been around BMX for a while, there’s a good chance you’ve spent a little time cruising through the board to see all the different threads on there. Between all the BMX, cars, motorcycles, girls, news related and funny threads that are constantly popping up, it’s easy to get sucked into checking out everything that’s going on over there. It’s a good place to find out about something you didn’t know about or even get a question answered you might not have been able to find elsewhere. For this first round, I’ve decided to pick two recent threads that I found pretty interesting for you guys to check out and possibly get in on if you have an account or would be up for creating your own account (Don’t worry… It’s FREE).
First up, we have the “What Happened To…” thread that Josss fired up asking where Dylan Smith and Scott Maylon have been since they decided to step out of the BMX light. Since then, it has lead to a bunch of different names like Eli Platt, Dave Young, Josh Heino, Shawn Arata and more! It’s a pretty interesting read with what kind of info people have on the guys and some of the rumors that have popped up.
The second new thread worth checking out this time around is TenPack Distro Belly Up. Yesterday, Tenpack Distribution up in Canada announced to their dealers that they will be shutting down in July and liquidating their entire inventory from the 28 brands they supply the country’s shops with. This one is a pretty interesting one since it was an unexpected announcement and I’d imagine will shake things up for the BMX industry in Canada.

Did you like the song in Hoang Tran’s part from the Subrosa “Get Used To It” video? Turns out there is a crazy story behind the song and how they actually got to use it in the video! Check this video interview out where they catch up with Paul Gurvitz to talk about it! This is badass!
“Check out this different style edit from Subrosa. We got a chance to sit down with Paul Gurvitz from the band Gun and Three Man Army about what went into the remaking of the song “Race With the Devil” for our full-length video Get Used To It.
This was the first artist we approached in the process of getting clearance for all the music in the video, and it turned out to be a really cool story. Instead of simply just using the existing song, he re-recorded a version just for Hoang Tran’s G.U.T.I. section!
The Gun “Race With the Devil” made it to the Top 10 U.K. charts in 1969 and has been covered by tons of bands including Girl School and Judas Priest.
