Red Bull – The Big Rig Holiday

July 28, 2015

Here’s one from Red Bull that we have been waiting for all week! They recently piled a unique crew of riders together in an RV for a trip around the Northwest to hit up street spots. Watch as Nathan Williams, Reed Stark, Alex Kennedy, Corey Martinez, David Grant, Christian Rigal and Matt Roe all go to work on spots with their different styles making some some amazing riding. That rail that Reed Stark does is absolutely UNREAL. It looks like he took a serious beating but didn’t let the rail win! Hell yeah, Reed!

“The great outdoors… and I’m not talking about the leafy industrial estate out of town with the awesome rails that you don’t get kicked out of. I’m going on about forests, waterfalls and one hell of a big rig ploughing its way through the great Pacific Northwest!

The great outdoors… and I’m not talking about the leafy industrial estate out of town with the awesome rails that you don’t get kicked out of. I’m going on about forests, waterfalls and one hell of a big rig ploughing its way through the great Pacific Northwest!

The plan was simple, well, to be honest it was non-existent; take eight friends, both old and new, meet up in Portland, Oregon. Then pile everyone into a 40-foot-long RV and see what happens!

The heavily-laden RV consisted of a pretty eclectic list of names, including Nathan Williams, Reed Stark, Alex Kennedy, Corey Martinez, David Grant, Christian Rigal, and Matt Roe.

The ‘plan’ was so loose that we hadn’t even decided on which direction to take.
After some deliberation and many blank faces we set the compass for south and headed for Salem and Eugene and possibly some of the smaller towns along the way. We soon realised this was probably the worst idea we could have come up with…

Driving an enormous recreational vehicle into small peaceful towns with eight dudes hanging out of every window obviously didn’t go down too well, let alone help with finding spots and being able to ride them long enough to film a clip! Needless to say, we encountered our fair share of small town cop mentalities and bafflingly idiotic reasoning. But despite that we got some pretty amazing bike riding documented in between our troubles, and Reed got his crazy 180-degree curved rail in Eugene, so it wasn’t all in vain.”

Nathan Williams 2015 Compilation

June 4, 2015

These compilation BMX videos that fans put together are always a good reminder of clips you might have forgotten or missed from a certain rider. In this case, here’s a mix of Nathan Williams footage from the past year or so from different events he was riding at and sessions he got in. Definitely a few clips in here that made us think this isn’t a compilation by a fan, because we didn’t remember seeing them.

What Is The Street Series?

May 29, 2015

With the big news about The Street Series for 2015 about to drop, they decided to grab Dakota Roche, Dan Lacey, Ben Lewis , Ed Zunda, and Nathan Williams to talk about just what it’s like to be apart of one of the stops to go along with a ton of footage from last year. All we know is that this year is bound to be even crazier!

“Are you ready to see what’s in store for The Street Series in 2015? Well we drop all info next week and boy are you in store for a treat! Get excited and prepare yourself by checking out our 2014 round up with interviews mixed in from your favorite Monster Energy BMX street riders!”

4Down 1Up – Team Williams – Full Section

April 30, 2015

Here it is! The 4th video from the 4Down 1Up contest. This time around we have Nathan Williams and Alex Valentino putting in work on the 4Down Warehouse with James Cox behind the lens. Needless to say, both of these guys came through with some damn good riding and James’ unique approach to the editing turned out real good as well. The curved rail they put to good use lead to some awesome clips and that ender is wild. You don’t want to skip this BMX video!

“The final 4Down1Up video is here and it’s none other than TeamWilliams! It’s no surprise this one is equally as crazy as the other edits when the team is made up of a combination of Nathan Williams, United teammate Alex Valentino and filmer James Cox – and add that to a really interesting colour coordination idea with regular and switch and you’re in for a great video. Remind yourself of what TeamLacey, TeamMac, and TeamSmillie got up to earlier on in the week and then vote for your favourite video tomorrow along with being entered into our giveaway, courtesy of Dan’s Comp!” – DIG

4Down 1Up – On The Couch with Team Williams

April 24, 2015

Nathan Williams and Alex Valentino sit down on the couch to talk 4Down 1Up! If this video gives us any indication of what’s to come, it would appear that James Cox is giving their section an old school fee. We should be in for a treat. Take a peek!

“You would have noticed a bunch of behind-the-scenes photos from 4Down 1Up on our Instagram over the past few weeks and we’re so nearly ready to show you what’s been happening at the 4Down park in Hastings, UK. At the end of each 4Down 1Up session we got the teams On The Couch to get a little insight into the project and how each guy picked their counterpart rider and filmer. The final crew to get the interrogation treatment was United’s Nathan William’s and man of few words, Alex Valentino. The full edits will be released week beginning April 27th when you’ll have your chance to vote for your favourite on DIGBMX.com. Make sure you vote and you’ll have a chance to win a big ol’ bag of parts and prizes!” – DIG

DIG – Ender Ender: Nathan Williams

April 1, 2015

For DIG‘s latest installment of “Ender Ender”, they caught up with Nathan Williams to talk about that insane barspin he ended his “This Is United” section with! Check out the story above, then re-watch Nathan’s section below!

“Our Ender Ender series continues, this time we find out more about Nathan Williams’ scary barspin gap that closed out his section in United’s 2010 Nora Cup winning ‘This Is United’ DVD. DIG’s Andrew White explains more…

“Nathan had been scoping this gap for a while now. It’s en route to the skatepark so it got eyed all the time. Nathan was in destroy mode during this period while filming for TIU. James Cox would come to town here and there, and Nathan would ‘simply’ check bangers off the list. (This hasn’t changed). He had seen the timeline of TIU and was wanting to give 100% for his part, so on James’ last morning in town we planned to get this.

It could not be in a worse spot. The gap is at a junction of the two main interstate in downtown Nashville, and the city road below is a 4 lane haul-ass stretch of pavement with a hill obscuring the south side and a major four way intersection at the north. It was a crapshoot timing the cars coming over the hill, and also the intersection with random right hand turns throwing off any stoplight timing system we had.

We arrived at 6:30 AM Sunday morning. It was looking pretty good traffic wise, and the light was just about to allow for a good exposure throughout the scene. Media crew set up as quick as possible, and Nathan got his head straight. For the next half hour, Nathan jumped the gap every 10 minutes, which was the tempo for dodging traffic. On his fourth jump, he threw the bars and nut-rode out. He got back up, delaying any concerns for procreation for a later date, and had the gap dialed in and ready to go. He was over the squirrly feelers, already threw the bars once, and was just ready to knock it out and get it over with.

But right at that time Sunday morning traffic picked up considerably. For almost 25 minutes, we relayed signals for possible openings. Nathan didn’t have as much time as an hour before where he could get the Ok, turn around, compose for five seconds then do the gap. At this point Nathan was reared up at the end of the runway, front foot ready to drop the cranks at a moment’s notice. After an unreasonable amount of waiting, and Nathan becoming beyond iced up there, we all had a, ‘well shit, he had four tries, and it didn’t quite work out’ realization. The traffic was really just too unforgiving.

After a 25 minute waiting period there was a halfway window. The GO! message was relayed with the thought that it was possible to likely James would have to stop Nathan at the last minute. Fortunately, that was not necessary. Nathan caught the bars and rode out. We were ecstatic and shocked all at once.

With the clip in the bag, we packed up and maybe grabbed breakfast? I don’t remember. But I do know for certain is that later that afternoon those guys drove to Cincinnati and Nathan got more TIU clips. Fucking lunatic.“” – Andrew White
