Made of Concrete

February 9, 2017

Soul coming through with a new series taking a look at different styles of DIY spots! This first episode kicks things off with some DIY spots created with the help of concrete. This video hits up ditch spots, a DIY park and a few other unique spots that Nico Badet, Nicolas Cambon, Antoine Nau and a few others built and spent some time riding. Great riding, clean film work and some fun looking spots. Check it out!

“First episode of our trilogy dedicated to DIY spots, produced in association with VANS. We asked Nicolas Cambon and his crew from ALBI roots to create some spot with concrete ; see more behind the scene photos of Simon Cassol on the article on new SOULBMXMAG.COM. Next episodes will be about wood and steel. Stay tuned and feel free to share.”

Vans – Nicolas Cambon: Nowhere to Ride

September 28, 2016

Now this is not your typical BMX video. In a world of Vlogs and short 15 second clips filmed at a local spot, this takes a serious dump on all of that. DIG just released this new video featuring Vans French connect Nicolas Cambon going to work on a bunch of very unique, hard to reach and amazing spots! Add in some excellent film work and you have a video that took a lot of work and effort, but lead to great results. Enjoy!

“At DIG we’ve always been a fan of the road less travelled, and when that comes to bike riding, adventure is one of the most important elements and pretty much the foundation of what we’ve been built on since day one; well ahead of tricks, trends or popularity contests. A lot of us here grew up in areas that had very little to no BMX scene at all so the art of seeking out and using a spot that most would ride straight past has been and still is, a necessity for survival and motivation. The world is huge and the potentail for new spots is endless, and some of those may be previously unconsidred and just down the road. Get out there and get exploring – you never know what you might discover… even if occasionally you might have to look beyond the norm and put that extra bit of work in.

For NOWHERETORIDE, long time French BMXer Nicolas Cambon and filmer Mayol worked together over a 6 month period trying to find searching to find the most unique spots that they could.” – DIG

Here’s what the man behind the lens had to say about the project from his perspective:

“Nicolas Cambon is a 38 years old BMXer, riding since 1989. Nowheretoride is not a trick video project or skatepark edit – Nowheretoride is first a spot searching BMX adventure to try and ride the most unrideable spots. Nicolas Cambon (Vans / Haro) is not the type of rider to do a double flair or win a FISE contest… he is someone who, in my opinion, rides BMX with more originality than anybody in 2016.” – Mayol
