“2022 is my 25th year riding BMX, I had no idea when I started this journey just how far the road would go. Even with all the twists and turns along the way, I still love it as much as I did on day 1.

I’ve put this edit together with clips I filmed over the last 18 months to celebrate, here’s to the next 25!

The Goat Cave Podcast – Nik Ford

February 15, 2021

Here’s one we had sent through from a podcast we haven’t heard of called The Goat Cave Podcast that’s apparently been around for a while! This latest episode, Nik Ford sat down for an interview. As many of you know, Nik has been throwing down over in the U.K for years and has done a lot from being a sponsored rider to producing DVD’s and more. Nik has an interesting story that spans two decades with a lot of great stories, achievements and more. There’s also a lot of things in this that we didn’t know about. Hit play and take it all in since it’s a real good listen!

“Today’s guest is a UK local who has been shredding over 20 years. In his time riding he has been in countless magazines, rode in many contests, been sponsored by some big brands like DiamondBack and DuFFs footwear, and produced 2 full length DVDs, “Unsung”, and “What Next”. Just like most of life, you have to take the good with the bad, and he has dealt with some of the hardest things a person can endure, on January 7th, 2003 he would go into a coma after taking a crash while riding the day before. Things didn’t get better at first, he would have a heart attack while in his coma which left his brain unresponsive. On January 13th, 2003 at the age of 19, Nik Ford had died…. After 3.5 hours, the nurse came to do her final round with Nik when she noticed a reaction in his pupils, he was alive! and in the fight of his life. 18 years later Nik Ford is here at The Goat Cave to tell us his story and so much more!

As always, Nik produces a ton of creative and unique combos that keep things interesting from start to finish! Take a look and see what he cooked up!

“In 2019, I began the overdue journey to understand my shadow. Although this is still a work in progress, looking back I have come along way since I released my previous edit, the escapist.

The fact that I am finding some peace means my head is in a better place, where better things happen.

“ I woke up still not dead again today. “

Keen for 2020, be kind, stay rad. X

Nik Ford – Situations

January 8, 2018

Nik Ford sent over his latest video for your viewing pleasure.

Here’s a fresh one that popped in the inbox today from Nik Ford for you guys to check out! As always, Nik gets creative on everything he touches from street spots to skateparks, keeping things pretty unpredictable from start to finish. Check out what he cooked up since this is a solid watch!

“Who would have thought 15 years ago whilst in a coma from a bmx crash that I would have ticked so many things off my wish list! I have been sponsored by some rad companies, travelled the world, been featured in books and magazines and meet some amazing people along the way. 2017 was a good year with a return trip to Australia and competing in the iBMXFF world championships. It’s never been about results but the situations, making memories and ticking things off that wish list.

I am proud of the last 15 years and optimistic for the future with my rad little family. I feel the song is particularly relevant and if I had the chance to did all again, well it’s something I would like to do.

Nik Ford – Australia 2017 Video

April 18, 2017

Nik Ford sent through this new video he put together from a trip to Australia! This video gives us a look at what he got into during his stay, along with plenty of dialed riding from skatepark and street session him and a few friends caught during his time there. It looks like it was an amazing time to us! Check it!

“Searching for a track and picking the right one for an edit is always something I think long about. When I heard this song by Horrorshow I knew that I found the one. The lyrics are on point and that 2nd verse says it all.

Anyways, I recently returned to Australia with my family and had the best time imaginable. Here is some clips of what I got up to. It was rad to catch up with some of my mates and there is a few throwback clips that fitted in perfectly with the lyrical narrative from when I lived there in 2010.

Nik Ford – Time Bomb

January 9, 2017

Here’s one Nik Ford sent through for your viewing pleasure! This video was filmed over the course of the year, after healing up from shoulder surgery, at a bunch of different skateparks and street spots. As always, Nik brings a deep and diverse bag of tricks that keep you guessing what’s coming next from start to finish! Take a peek!

“2016 was my 13th year back riding after suffering a brain injury from a serious bike crash, It was also 20 years from when I began riding BMX. I was keen to film what I hoped would be one of best video projects, at 33 years young!

However in the all too familiar Nik Ford time bomb scenario, I had another nasty crash on my bike and needed to have surgery to reconstruct my shoulder. This delayed the start of filming and meant I had a lot to fit in to the later half of the year.

Now the edit is complete I am stoked with all the clips, my favourites include the no handed xup grind, suicide double barspin rocket icepick, feeble grind to xup pegs to barspin out and the rodeo grind.

Thank you for watching

Nik Ford – Turn the Page BMX Edit

June 29, 2015

Nik Ford is always cooking up some interesting and unique BMX videos for us to check out. His latest video is a compilation of crazy grinds he does with x-ups, barspins, rockets and more all mixed throughout. This might not be the prettiest riding we’ve ever seen, but it will leave you guessing what’s coming next all the way until the end. Plus, Nik gets major bonus points for pulling off a Rodeo Grind in this!

“2015 has seen a lot of changes for me and as I turn the page on the next chapter, I do enjoy reading the old ones, the classics if you will. Mat Hoffman on the PS2, rocket icepick barspins, x up grinds, studded belts, levitation grinds, rodeo grinds and one foot tables.

” I produced this using only my bare wit ”
